SECTION 9.0
CHEAT SHEET
SECTION 9.1
INSERTING TITLEBLK.DWG
- Enter "TILEMODE", set it to "0"; or double click the "TILE" button in the bottom toolbar to make it greyed. Make "SHEET" the current layer. Enter "DDINSERT" and double click "TITLEBLK.DWG" on the G:/Ch/Shared/Pworks/Acadfile/Standards directory, then hit "OK". Pick your insertion point. At the "X scale factor <1> / Corner / XYZ:" hit enter, at the "Y scale factor (default=X):" hit enter, and at the "Rotation angle" hit enter. Type "ZOOM" "EXTENTS".
SECTION 9.2
INSERTING TITLENFO.DWG
- Enter "TILEMODE", set it to "0"; or double click the "TILE" button in the bottom toolbar to make it greyed. Make "SHEET-TXT" the current layer. Enter "DDINSERT" and double click "TITLENFO.DWG" on the G:/Ch/Shared/Works/Acadfile/Standards directory, then hit "OK". Pick your insertion point, which will be the same point as the insertion point of your "TITLEBLK.DWG" (the lower left limit lines) at the "Insertion point:" type "INS" and pick the lower limit lines. At the "X scale factor <1> / Corner / XYZ:" hit enter, at the "Y scale factor (default=X):" hit enter, and at the "Rotation angle" hit enter. You will now be prompted for the attribute values. At the "ELECTRONIC FILE NUMBER?" type your acad drawing name. At the "LINE 1 PROJECT NAME?" type the top line of your project (ie: FY 1999 - 2000). At the "LINE 2 PROJECT NAME?" type the title of the project (ie: ANNUAL MAJOR STREETS REHABILITATION PROJECT). At the "LINE 3 PROJECT NAME?" type the street name with stationing (leave stationing as "XX+XX - XX+XX" if you do not have the stationing yet) and the "SV" number (ie: Tierra Rejada Road 12+00 - 56+50 SV 98-04). At the "SHEET TITLE?" type either "STREET IMPROVEMENTS", "STREET IMPROVEMENTS/SECTIONS" (for last sheet on a street improvement plan), "STRIPING PLAN", "TITLE SHEET", or "GEN. NOTES, DETAILS, AND ABBREVIATIONS". At the "SHEET NUMBER?" type the number of the sheet. At the "TOTAL SHEETS?" type the number of sheets for your set of plans (if you do not know how many sheets you will have, hit enter to accept the default which is "TOT", which you will be able to change later [See Section 9.6 Modifying Attributes in Titlenfo.dwg). At the "DRAWING NUMBER?" type the City drawing number (if you do not have the number yet, hit enter to accept the default which is "DWG", which you will be able to change later [See Section 9.6 Modifying Attributes in Titlenfo.dwg).
SECTION 9.3
INSERTING VIEWPORTS
- Enter "TILEMODE", set it to "0"; or double click the "TILE" button in the bottom toolbar to make it greyed. Make "V" the current layer. Enter "MVIEW" and pick points as with a window, spanning the length of the border, and about half way down within the border. When you pick your 2nd point, you will see your model space drawing regenerated within this new viewport. Type "MS", or double click the "PAPER" button in the bottom toolbar. You are now 'inside' this viewport. Type "Z" and "1/40xp" for 40 scale, or "1/100xp" for 100 scale, etc. This will set the viewport to your desired scale. Type "Z" then "D" and position your dynamic view to the first part of the street. Right clicking your mouse will set this area into your viewport. Pan if needed. Type "PS" or double click on the "MODEL" button on the bottom toolbar. Make "Sheet" the current layer. Draw a line below the viewport from one side of the border to the other for a separator. Copy the viewport so that you have two viewports on each sheet. Renter modelspace, click on the copied viewport and pan as needed.
SECTION 9.4
MULTIPLE SHEETS IN A DRAWING
- With "TITLEBLK.DWG" and "TITLENFO.DWG" inserted, copy these and place at 50 units (ie: @50,0 on the command line) to the right. If you have already setup some viewports, copy these as well, as this will save the time of recreating them. See next section (Section 9.5) for setting up views per sheet.
SECTION 9.5
SETTING VIEWS
- Type "Z", then "E". Type "Z", then "W", type "INS" and pick the lower left limit lines of the titleblock. Type "END" and pick the upper right corner of the border. This will zoom the drawing into the center of the screen. To effectively plot by views, the lower left limit lines must be at the left-most section of the screen before the view is set. To accomplish this, EITHER type "-P" to access the old version of pan, and with Ortho on, pan over so that the limit line is at the left-most section of the screen, OR draw a line at the left-most section of the screen orthogonally to the limit line, and then "LIST" this line to get its length, then "-P" for the length. Once the limit line is at the left-most section of the screen, type "VIEW", then "S", and name the view as the same name as the sheet number. When plotting, refer to this view for the limits of the plot area. Using the "DEFAULT.PC2" file, this will plot out exactly on 24" x 36" paper on the 650C with then page format set on 'software'.
SECTION 9.6
MODIFYING ATTRIBUTES IN TITLENFO.DWG
- To change "DWG" or "TOT" or any other attribute in Titlenfo.dwg, type "ATTEDIT". There are two ways to edit attributes; globally or individually.
- GLOBALLY - to change all of the "TOT" attributes to your total sheets number (ie:20) - At the "Edit attributes one at a time?" type "N", at the "Edit only attributes visible on screen?" type "N", at the "Block name specification" type "TITLENFO" (or hit enter to select all blocks, but if you have more blocks with attributes, there may be conflicts), at the "Attribute tag specification" hit enter, at the "Attribute value specification" type "TOT" [case sensitive!] (or the value of the attribute you want to replace). At the "String to change:" type "TOT", at the "New string:" type "20" (or the number of sheets in your drawing).
- INDIVIDUALLY - to change a specific attribute, such as "TITLE SHEET" to "STREET IMPROVEMENTS", type "ATTEDIT", and hit enter at all of the prompts. At the "Select Attributes:" select the attribute. At the "Value/Position/Height/Angle/Style/Layer/Color/Next" type "V", at the "Change or Replace?" hit enter, at the "New attribute value:" type the new value. An option under "Change or Replace?" is "C" which would allow you to change a part of the value as in "STREEET" could be changed by specifying "EEE" to be changed to "EE". Note: care must be taken to avoid changing more attributes than expected using the "Change" option (if you specify "S" to be changed to "D" globally, all S's will be changed to D's).
SECTION 9.7
MODIFYING THE VIEWPORT
- With "TILEMODE" set to "0", you can modify the size of the border for the viewport. To modify the contents of the viewport, type "MS" or double click the "PAPER" button in the bottom toolbar. Click inside of the viewport that you want to modify. You can pan and zoom as you would in Modelspace. To set a specific scale, see Section 9.3 Inserting Viewports. To rotate your view in a viewport, type "DVIEW". At the "Select objects:", select main objects as; centerline, right-of-way, etc. or select everything. At the "Camera/TArget/Distance/POints/PAn/Zoom/TWist/CLip/Hide/Off/Undo/", type "TW". Either enter an angle, or drag the pointer to your desired twist. Hit enter or right click. Hit enter again to exit.
SECTION 9.8
INSERTING MATCHUP.DWG & MATCHDN.DWG
- In paperspace, set current layer to "SHEET-TXT". The insertion point of these blocks are the middle of the matchline. Insert them by specifying "MID" when prompted for the insertion point, and pick the stationing tick mark at your desired matchpoint. AutoCAD allows you to select the stationing even though you are in paperspace and are specifying the insertion point of a modelspace entity. When prompted for X & Y scales hit enter. When prompted for rotation, type "PER" and pick the appropriate Right-of-way line. Next enter the attribute information. Station number should be a whole number, preferably ending with "00", "25", "50", or "75". Matchline letter should be coordinated ahead of time and should be consistent throughout all plan sheets. Starting matchline should be letter "A", then matchline letter "B", etc. At the"LOCATION OF NEXT MATCHLINE" type either, "SEE SHEET NO. XX" (xx being your next matching sheet), "SEE LOWER LEFT", or "SEE UPPER RIGHT". Next, either with grips, or with the "STRETCH" command, modify your viewport border to be aligned with your matchline.
