Furniture Donation Program

I have volunteered for JFS for eleven years as coordinator of furniture donation for the newly arrived refugees. Our purpose is to help the new immigrants to settle into an apartment with tables, chairs, sofas, beds, bureaus and other household items.

It has been a very rewarding position for me and my family. We have made many friends with these New Americans. Our lives would never have been so full had we not connected with these people.

If you are interested in donating furniture (no clothing please) feel free to contact me, Barbara Kaufman, at (860) 561-2948. Currently we are fortunate to have a New American drive our rented truck. We would appreciate others who could drive and help on moving days. We really need three or four people available to help move the furniture.
