The Resettlement Program is part of Jewish Family Service of Greater Hartford (JFS), a mental health and social service agency serving the local community and meeting the special needs of the Jewish community. The Resettlement Program is supported by grants from the federal and state governments and local non-profit organizations, and by contributions from sponsors of the refugees. Affiliated agencies include:

  • THE JEWISH FEDERATION OF GREATER HARTFORD
A planning, coordinating and funding agency for the organized Jewish community. The Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford is the subcontractor for the federal grants that support the Resettlement Program and a funding agency of the Resettlement Program.

  • JEWISH FEDERATION ASSOCIATION OF CONNECTICUT (JFAC)
The government and community relations arm of the Jewish federation system in the state and lobbyist for legislation that is of interest to Connecticut's Jewish community of 130,000. JFAC is the subcontractor for the four state grants supporting refugee resettlement through the state's six Jewish refugee resettlement programs.

  • THE HEBREW IMMIGRANT AID SOCIETY (HIAS)
The international migration agency of the organized Jewish community, advocating for and rescuing Jewish and non-Jewish refugees. HIAS provides guidance, training, assistance, and nation-wide administration of the federal grants for Jewish resettlement in the U.S.A.
