Elastica: good but they dont have many albums. i dont know whats going on with them really, but the self-titled album has a couple blazing tunes // No Doubt: you know what? I dont think Gwen has noticed me yet 8( // Guns N' Roses: yes now thats the stuff. have you listened to "Appetite For Destruction" lately? // Duran Duran: not what i grew up listening to- the people i idolized listened to it though. but now i dont idolize those people very much and DuranDuran, while i get it and it rings home to me, is a little too disaffected and plastic for my taste. eh, but what do i know // Joan Jett and the Blackhearts: no doubt about it- they are from Philadelphia. this means two things to me- 1. i like the sound and i get the spirit, and 2. Philadelphia isnt for everyone. it used to be so great what the hell happened!? oh well, whatever Philly had me and Joan Jett apparently took with us lol // Cardigans: i love Nina Persons. there latest record "Gran Turismo" is very catchy. // Souxsie and the Banshees: freaky early British girl punk. trippy but a little depressing // Billy Idol: Billy isnt into the new-age PC scene and god bless him! you know he really started the whole "cyberpunk" with his album of the same name. im going to start hunting down all his records and i mean records. soon as i have money ;-) // Madonna // Cyndi Lauper: i dont like the weird transvestite scene she seems to be all involved with now, but besides that Cyndi is the coolest NY80s chick i can think of! her love songs are the best, ever // Roxxette: you remember "Must Have Been Love" dont you? i've only heard three or so songs of theres but how can i leave them out, what i heard was beautiful // Henry Rollins Band: yeah! now henry is the man. "Weight" is one of the most influencial albums from my dark young teenage years and it really sparked my interest in curling iron (i still have remnants of muscle). Rollins is the man // Stryper: a very interesting Christian glam band from the eighties. well...wheres YOUR glam band Big Talka? (i never actually heard Stryper play except for some sound samples) // Meeg's RasconsChamber: Meegs is the guitarist for Coal Chamber and this is a dynamite webtv site for him. Not 80s in the obvious sense, but like i promise- you link me i link you :) // |
