| Adamant's Mainpage: the one to put my site to shame indeed! All the basics are here- from trends and fad listings to his own compilation of must-have 80s books, CDs (bah, CDs), movies and merchandize of Amazon. Also a cool trivia game that also provides history and links for the answer (which sometimes works) alt.culture revival: just a short article about our time for a 'cultural articles' site. five of six links here dont work, which i find unsettling. Well it just makes the revival scene is look bad lol! Billy Idol: Gener@tion WWW: updated very recently, it needs an IRC chat room but is indispensible for it's lyrics, very wired-in news and selection of media (RealAudio, some MIDIs) and the picture collection Club Minimal: Punk Flyers: this was a punk club back in the day and here are some of the interesting flyers they circulated for the bands Daisy's Movie Reviews: good amount of reviews, especially horror and my fav- Molly Ringwald. The rating system is funny ((O8 Hong Kong TVB Pretty Actress: hey it wasnt just America that experienced the cultural fantastique! or the superfied female. Movies From The Eighties: very interesting material- will fill in lots of missing puzzle peices for those still trying to figure what was it about this time history Slave to the Wave: really something else! he is reviving important but somewhat overlooked music! thanks to the WebTV upgrade i cant finally access the band profiles (he has alot) and some of the realaudio-type music clips im able to listen to. definetly something people will want to see and check back with again and again Strawberry Switchblade: a two girl Scottish punk group, make certain you click on the official SS homepage link to see the rest The 80s Page: a nice essay with keyword-click pictures, i love it, but i wouldnt have put the supposed "bad stuff" at the end of it as a summary, ;-] The Retros: omg! they have a playlist of some of the best songs put out, including a female vocalist who handles a madonna and neena song! plus Billy Idol and many more. Another reason to move to Seattle as they play many shows there 21st Century Jem: its always great to see a Jem page. Like most, this one is easy to navigate and has lots of wonderful pink. Ahhh. Not only does she mention Elastica but also is linked to the jem cover band Pink Filth! Strange name for a band covering such awesome songs though. Also i notice a lot of girls in our generation seem to have inherited a lot of the woman vs. boy mentality that has made existence living hell for well intentioned young men since the g-damn 60s. You guys know what im talking about and im not saying its all women- there are so many that have no ill intentions for us. And its only the girls who are fighting ya know, besides some rouge guerrila fighters who act like gigalos. Moving on- did you know there is a Jem MOVIE!? Yep, she also has a cool quiz but its kinda hard to see. The Toonarific Cartoon Archive: the site lives up to the name! Its slow loading, but there is a reason- Toonarific has 1,500 cartoons and 10,000 pictures. His page has been awarded the best toon page of the century. When you click on a toon, make sure you remember to click the Photos button, otherwise you will only see the toon's title shot. He choose some really great pictures to display for the shows too. This is the place to go if you cant find certain ones, like Kidd Viddeo and Mr.T's Allstar Squad! There are often 16-24 pics for each one as well. He has just about every toon there is i think, must be with 1,500 listed. Amazingly enough he is also working on episode guides and multimedia for every single one. Yes, a true goldmine, it is lucky that he bothers to undertake this project for everyone. Driko's Music and Nostalgia!: among the items a collection of articles for the decade (various authors), 3 lyric quizs without almost 600 questions total (!), pic of Bud Mackenzie on skies, good links, lots of lyric lynks, collage mural she made herself (awesome), book collection and more. Be sure to check out her massive tape (cassette) collection too. gijoecartoon.tvheaven.com: slick production, droves of fan fiction (lot of love makin' stories. whatever happened to good old fashion freedom fighting lol...i should get a girlfriend), about 300 photos that are vcr-ish vidcaps but are still worthy of thirty minutes viewing, she's working on an episode guide, has a Duke & Scarlet section with a neat gif-animation of them embracing. Lady Jaye was always my favorite and her and Flint have their own section; a G.I.JOE drinking game, cells, ect. The real army sucks the big one but JOE knows how to have a good time. JOE knows 8O)) Jarethwench's Laybrinth Page: to tell you the truth the thing i dont like about my site is the clutter. There is no such problem with Jarethwench's page! Crystal clear photo pages and cool wavs! Thats it! And its wonderful. Especially for webtvers, you dont have to sit and bemoan your cache here. One of my favorite sites too. Jem Grrrlz: Starts with a great intro stroy about Jem and her; site has a very professional design layout (when regular people do it, it means you dont have to look at ads heh), a page for accessories she owns with product models of course, Mail-in offers such as a little MTV jacket for Jem (call me sick but the way she's posing is something else. lol. oh come on, can you come on? come on), "Faboo Jem Related Items" such as hard and soft cover books and all sorts of girlie merchandize, a section exposing what turns the series would have taken if not for cancellation, a nice price guide, bulletin board, links and info on the webmistress. Its nice to see people so enthusiastic with their hobby! Jenifer's Smurf Page: come see all her smurf toys! Large varied collection, all on one page so no button pressing :) MerryJane's Smurf Page: awesome wav of the theme song as soon as you pop in, show info and lots and lots of crisp background-less gifs! 80s Enuff: is it enough? i think so. This is an 80s coverband from Melborne Australia. They use the same musical instrutments that bands why back when used and pics to prove it. Drum kit, synths, guitars and bass equipment as well as sequencers from that era and the reproduce very well. They have a superior atmospheric layout, which takes you to hilarious profiles; have played some pretty large events looking at the photos, there are 5 audio samples that WebTVers can hear! It takes a long time to load but for those who always wondered what it would sound like if they ever tried to recreate these songs themselves (with years of practice) they include: Hungry Like The Wolf, Video Killed the Radio Star, Tainted Love, Just Can Get Enough and Whip It. They have animated gifs which i gather are of the band members, but it took me too long waiting for them to load to see. And there are some top links as well 8O). Hollywood Jem!: i know people who are very alert will notice what seems like an inordinate amount of Jem sites listed on my site. Before i am accused of obsession you should know that there are very many of them! Now, this may be the best one. You will have to decide for yourself....YAY JEM! The Web's First WildFire Page: i had no idea this show even existed! (geezus i almost pushed the back button) Its a chick's show so maybe i just dont remember it (no room in my 5 year old brain left with She-Ra, Brite, Lady Jaye and the Whos The Boss girl occupying it). There is a growing episode guide, list of characters with pic, multimedia selection highlighted by a video of the promo (PCers only), desktop theme download, theme song wav, a few screen shots and it seems there was an online RPG Wildfire. |
