Zhao starts insulting Long, calling her by several names until Yang Guo becomes enraged and attacks him. The Taoist is taken by surprise and falls down. Yang Guo is about to kill him when Yin Zhi Ping stops him and convinces him to see to Long first. He then swears that it is a secret between the four of them and that he would never tell a single soul for as long as he lives. At sword point, Yang Guo extracts the same promise from the fallen Taoist before he carries Long back to the Ancient Tomb.
As he places her down on the floor, for she could not stand the Ice Stone Bed with her injuries, Long suddenly picks up a sword and points it at Yang Guo's throat.
"I promised to take care of you forever. I can't recover. I'll kill you first and take you with me to Granny," she says, referring to the promise she had made to her old friend.
But as she looks into the young man's eyes, she changes her mind and ordes him to leave the tomb. Yang Guo could not refuse his master's wish and so, though bereft and deeply saddened, he runs out. At the foot of the hill, he stops to vent out his frustration, realizing for the first time the depth of his feelings for his Gugu. Just then, a strange girl carrying two swords calls his attention.#
