"The Real Folk Blues" (Bebop's closing theme)
"Tank!" (Bebop's opening theme)
"Rain" (Cool tune used in ep. 5 when Spike is walking to the cathedral
to face Vicious.  Many Bebop songs are in English--like this one)
"Green Bird" (A beautiful song, also from ep. 5, when Spike is falling out the
stained glass window of said cathedral, having a flashback of his
life in the Red Dragons and his other near-death experiences)
Julia (Theme used for Spike's Julia flashbacks, and for relationship moments               in general)

Julia
Julia is Spike's Lost Love... she also happens to be Vicious' ex-girlfriend.  This story is only slowly coming out, and I don't know much about it, but from what I can tell, Spike sort of stole Julia away from Vicious when they were in the Red Dragons, and this is one of the major factors in the Spike-Vicious hate relationship.  Spike does eventually find Julia in the last episode--just in time to see her shot and killed... how lucky of him.
Vicious by name, vicious by nature.  That is truly the only word necessary in a description of this guy.  He's freaky.  He and Spike used to be best friends, but that all went sour at some point (probably due to the Julia situation, explained below), and now Vicious spends much of his time trying to kill Spike, when he's not doing dastardly deeds which he claims is for the Red Dragon order but is really for himself.  Vicious' weapon of choide is a sword, and though this monstrosity doesn't exactly have "friends," I suppose the closest thing to that would be his weird bird that is always on his shoulder, don't ask me why.
The Bebop's crew originally consisted of only Spike and Jet, but by episode 2 they had acquired Ein while hunting a bountyhead, and soon after that Faye invited herself onboard, and later on she promised Ed that Ed could join in exchange for Ed's help.  Ed then literally forced the Bebop to pick her up by a remote control.  Although Spike claims there are three things he hates, "kids, dogs, and women with attitudes," he is greatly distressed when he thinks they're dying of some horrible disease in "Toys in the Attic;" despite their personality quirks, they all function well as a team.
Ein, a Welsh Corgi, is a Datadog of advanced intelligence, apparently worth a great deal of money.  Although he likes Jet and Spike and particularly Ed, he's not too fond of Faye, perhaps because she'd rather kick him than look at him.  Or maybe he's just an excellent judge of character. ;)

Ed is just plain weird (in case you hadn't come to that conclusion yourself).  She's a brilliant, Earth-born, preteen hacker/engineer/inventor who only refers to herself in the third person (ex. "Ed is very busy now"), and furthermore, she named
herself Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky IV.  Ed seriously needs to switch to decaf.  She and Ein leave the Bebop before the grand finale, in search of Ed's father.
Spike Spiegel is a strange fellow.  A green-haired bounty hunter who likes smoking, eating, and fighting, Spike has a very dark past that he doesn't like thinking about, but which just won't leave him alone.  He was once an assassin, a member of the Red Dragons, but he decided to get out of that.  It wasn't easy for him--he nearly died in fact--and now he spends a good deal of time getting shot by his former partner-turned-nemesis, Vicious.  The group of pictures on the right above are of Spike when he was a Red Dragon.  Spike is the show's Tortured Soul (hey, every story's got to have one), constantly battling his demons as much as he fights his enemies, hiding his concern for his fellow crew members, and pining for his Lost Love.  He's a busy guy.  At the end of the last episode, he's also a DEAD guy.  But at least he got Vicious first.
Jet Black is the owner of the Bebop.  He is an ex-ISSP (police) officer.  (He also makes me think of X-Men's Wolverine gone slightly to seed, I think it must be the beard.) Jet is the responsible one, the Father Figure.  Jet enjoys cooking, pruning his bonsai tree, and tearing Spike off a strip for being selfish and irresponsible.  Jet has a mechanical arm, which he claims is the price he paid for acting without thinking, which is why he's always after Spike about that very habit. (As a general point of interest, his American voice actor, John Billingslea, also voiced the Narrator in the dubbed "Outlaw Star.")
Faye Valentine is another odd one. (Ok, they're all odd, I know.) Faye has called herself both a Romany and a fairy (she does have those qualities about her), but I have seen her referred to most often as a "Shrew."  Faye's a gambler--she's also VERY old.  Although she is ancient in calendar years, she's physically young, because she spent most of those years cryogenically frozen, although she doesn't know why (or who she was before that) until the very end of hte series.  Faye spends a lot of time shopping, but I don't know why since all she ever wears is that yellow thing. (Her American voice actress, Wendee Lee also voiced Suzuka on the dubbed "Outlaw Star.")
The Supporting Cast
Cowboy Bebop (C) is the property of Sunrise/Bandai Entertainment. I have nothing to do with them, I just like their products!
You are Bountyhead #
Ok, just let me say that while I have NO interest in Pokemon--I've never seen an episode and I intend to keep it that way--the thought of catching and "training" cute anime guys certainly appealed to me!  Click on my trainer's badge to see what the heck this is all about.
