John Sheppard/Ronon Dex

My new Atlantis love! Hee. And the only reason I continue to watch this show. I mean, did you see Grace Under Pressure? Or The Tower? They were so bad. But, I'm going to continue on, if only because there's an episode in the third season's that's called Sateda that I really, really want to see.

Revelation and Pudding Series by Bone
Summary: ...dammit I can't think of one right now. But it's essentially about how John and Ronon get together. And there's sex. Lots and lots of hot HOT HOT sex. Did I mention sex?
Rating: NC-17
ikyrian's notes: Not only is the sex mind meltingly hot, but the stories themselves are exceedingly good. I wish other people would write more Ronon/John fics, especially if they are as good as Bone's fics. (But nooo, everyone want Sheppard/McKay. I weep.) This series is exactly how I would love to see John and Ronon's relationship to progress on screen. But, we'll never have that, so I'll just and make this my new canon (in my head.)

Skirting the Issue by Bone
Summary: It's an insert into svmadelyn's story, It Stops Being Funny at Skirts
Rating: NC-17
ikyrian's notes: Ohhhh yeah. See, the thing about Bone is she's such an awesome writer that no matter what the subject matter is, she can handle it. And this is pure "genderfuckery" as John is now female, and wants to take his new body for a test drive. And oh, my good LORD is it hot. Normally I prefer my het in the cheesy book format, but this was...hot. I'm so lame. But it's really good. And my heart breaks for Ronon it really does especially...

Skirting the Issue (Epilogue) by Bone
Summary: The John/Ronon sequel to svmadelyn's It Stops Being Funny at Skirts.
Rating: NC-17
ikyrian's notes: ...when you read this story. Not only is it hot and funny (Oh, my God, you ruined me!), but it really breaks my heart all at the same time. Despite the fact that it's really just a PWP, the end makes it seem like there could be something more to the story. And I totally love and hate Bone for giving it that little twist at the end, becuase it hurts, dammit. But it hurts so good. There really needs to be a threesome sequel or something so that I can get my happy ending.

Alpha Centauri series by Hth
Summary: Alpha Centauri is a trinary star system composed of a primary pair of yellow dwarfs (Alpha Centauri A and B) gravitationally bound to an outlying red dwarf (Proxima Centauri). These stories are like that.
Rating: NC-17 (overall)
Pairing: John/Rodney/Ronon
ikyrian's notes: Why rec it? Because it's just that good. Because Ronon is practically the voice of reason, and that's how it should be. Because it hurts how much Rodney just doesn't understand John, and how much Ronon does. Because I spent hours upon hours reading it, loving and simultaneously hating every minute of it. Because I hope for a happy ending, and might not get one. Because everyone should read this to see how a good story is written. Just, because, dammit. Because.

The Continuing Adventures of Ronon Dex, Senior Editor by lalejandra
Summary: The Angel of History hefts not a HALO but a mighty RED PEN. ~Anon. (Ok, so it has next to nothing to do with the actual plot of the story, but being a history major I had to use it.)
ikyrian's notes: OH, I love this. It's AU, obviously, but it's so wonderful. Really, the only reason you need to read this story is: John in glasses. John. Glasses. It's quite a bit of a long story, but it's perfect start to finish. So what are you waiting for? Go. GO!

Things Not To Do On Earth by StoryDiva
Summary: Sheppard decides to bring Ronon back to Earth with him for one of his visits, but something happens that he didn't account for.
Rating: Mature
ikyrian's notes: Ah, the let's bring the crazy alien home!story. Every fandom should have at least one (even if there are no aliens in actual canon). This one hits the right notes of ridiculousness, humor and seriousness. A highly humorous an quick read.

Still by rageprufrock
Summary: Is a question still a question even if the person you're asking has no idea you're asking?
Rating: Teen
ikyrian's notes: I like how spare this story is. It doesn't mince with words, and yet it gets the point across. Ronon has come to John asking a question, but the question is in such a form that John doesn't even understand. Convoluted? Sure, but that doesn't mean it's not a great read. This is a good look at how Sateda could have been, how Ronon fit into that world and how he fits himself into the Atlantians'. And the author does a darn fine job of working that problem out. Needs a sexy sequel, tho'. Srsly.

Keep the Home Fires Burning by SylvanWitch
Summary: **Wanted: One stoic warrior type for casual sex, maybe more. Must be passionate, occasionally submissive, always inscrutable, and patient with repression, military command protocol, and attempted martyrdom.**
Rating: Mature
ikyrian's notes: Despite the frivolty of the summary, this series is really quite a serious look at how John and Ronon's relationship could have progressed throughout Season Two. Sadly, the series completed after The Long Goodbye, which makes it feel a bit incomplete as it doesn't follow through to the end of the season, but worth every moment you spend reading it. The characters are solidly written into a well thought out plot.
