Weather Eye by kageygirl.
Summary: Radek should have followed that thought through to the logical conclusion, but he'd been too busy.
Rating: PG
ikyrian's notes: This made me smile. Though I am very new to SGA fandom, I have fallen very much in love with Zelenka and McKay. It also means that there are details of episdoes that I don't know about, especially from the first season. This is one of them. However, even without that knowledge (because I tend to go on a rampage when I get interested in a pairing), I clicked anyway. Their characterization here, though while not as lovers, is still very wonderful as friends. With Zelenka initially being grumpy at the thought that someone was careless at a delicate console to being immediately contrite when he realizes carelessness had nothing to do with it. All in all, it's a wonderful look at these two characters and their interactions (and in some ways non-interactions) with one another. I was very much impressed.
At the Edge of the World by James
Summary: Snippets of life in Antartica
Rating: PG
ikyrian's notes: Yay Zelenka! Yay for Zelenka POV! Just, YAY! *glee* This is a good piece. I've noticed a strange trend for SGA fics to be a little more upbeat and fluffy, especially with either Zelenka or Ford in the picture. Which is verrah, verrah nice. No pesky angst to get in the way of a really good fic. It's strange that I seem to be shying more and more away from the angst and stuff that makes my chest get that pinchy-tingly feeling, but it's good. It's nice to be upbeat for awhile, instead of so down.
A Bedtime Story by tigs
Summary: For 10,000 years shed lain in this room, waiting, hoping for someone to come. Set post-Siege III.

ikyrian's notes: ZOMG sooo cuuuuuuuuuuute. *iz ded o' teh kyuute* This is just way to adorable too pass up. And the concept was truly imaginative. To tell you more would probably just ruin the story, so just go! Read!
Windswept by cofax
Summary: "It's a story in which John Sheppard goes for a walk, and nothing happens."
Rating: G
ikyrian's notes: Despite the fact that nothing much happens in this story, I really enjoy the mood of this piece. And when John finds "Spot", my heart breaks, just a little.
Abrazo by pru
Summary: John hears the music in Weir's office and gets the idea.
Rating: PG
ikyrian's notes: This is sexy. I'm completely in love with the characterizations in this piece. John and Teyla are perfect. And the end makes me laugh every. Single. Time. Hee.
first toe in the water by Fabula Rasa
Summary: For a half-second McKay allowed himself to feel the pleasure of that...to savor its unspoken camaraderie, the way the Marine had just drawn a circle about the two of them...
Rating: G
ikyrian's notes: Season 1. This is how I like to think of McKay's and Ford's friendship starting: with McKay being wholly reticent, and Ford being upbeat and talking to McKay even though McKay's very...snarky. And the two managing to connect despite all of their differences.
Care Packages by Auburn and Eretria
Summary: Packages from home, booze and fishing.
Rating: PG-15
ikyrian's notes: Season 2. Crossover with Stargate: SG-1. Not only is this highly amusing, but makes one go "awww" in all of the right places. ...I should totally try to find more Carter/McKay stuff, because it's a pairing that I think I could into with little to no problem.
Fifteen Hours by ltlj
Summary: Hell was being trapped in a small spaceship with people who wanted to play word games.
Rating: PG
ikyrian's notes: Season 1. Heee. Ther characterizations are *spot on* here. And it's quite amusing. Stuck with McKay in a small space for fifteen hours? No, thank you. But somehow the others survive it, little to no wear. Good stuff. (A more coherent review will be made later, I'm too tired at the moment.)
The Flip of a Coin by Obsidiana Girl
Summary: Sometimes a flip of a coin is the only way to make a hard decision.
Rating: T
ikyrian's notes: Pre-Season 1 Sheppard. I felt bad for John in this. She gives us a different view of what could have really been the reason that John was flipping a coin. If you recall, O'Neill only gave him until they got back to McMurdo to make his decision. Presuming John said yes then, what would he have to flip a coin about? Well, take a gander at this story and find out.
The Care and Feeding of a CO by Domenika Marzione
Summary: Lorne invites a recovering Sheppard to accompany his team on a traipse around Atlantis.
Rating: T
ikyrian's notes: Go read this. And when you're done go back and read everything she has on her website. And once you've finished that, go to her LJ and read all of her WIP's. Once you're done with that, beg her to finish some of them. THESE ARE SO GOOD. Go read them and when you're done read them again. (And again and again and again like I do.) I fic-stalk this person. I'm at her LJ everyday refreshing the page just to see if she's put more up. THESE FICS ARE AMAZING and will most likely be the best gen fics you'll ever read. AND BETTER THAN CANON. All of her characters have such depth and humanity, especially her OC's, so much so that you look for her OC's in the show and wonder where the hell the writer's dropped the ball. Cuz they did, they so *so* did. Not only do her fics have great depth and a lot of work put into them, the places that they go and the fanciful beings they meet there are so much fun to read. She does humor, drama, and just about everything in between (no ships, no slash). Worth every hour of your life you're going to spend here.
