I got my first taste of public relations when I was thrown into a communications and policy role on a U.S. Senate political campaign. Going from a campaign volunteer to working with the likes of Bob Dole and Nancy Kassebaum was exciting and challenging. But it took almost 10 years of bruising in campaign battles and state politics before I broke free and jumped into a PR role in the private sector.

Some of the biggest PR highlights include securing one of Microsoft’s first in-depth profiles as an enterprise IT company in CIO magazine, working on behalf of SAP to convince Procter & Gamble to share its enterprise technology story, leveraging my PR and political skills on behalf of Qsent’s Wireless 411 Service initiative to coordinate and collaborate with several US wireless carriers and CTIA and navigate consumer privacy concerns, and hearing a US President speak words I wrote.

I’ve worked with companies such as Microsoft, SAP, Siebel (now Oracle), Qsent, ColumbiaSoft, Hubspan, Wireless Services Corp./SinglePoint, Dexterra, Home Phone Tunes, MXI Security, Canby Telecom, Telecom Transport Management, SmoothWall, Centeris, SNAPin Software, Artilium, Flurry, and the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network.

OnPR is one of the most enjoyable places I’ve worked; the people here make it fun. Most of our offices don’t have cubes and are open to take advantage of camaraderie and collaboration. Importantly, there are a lot of great, smart people here who can step up and contribute at a moment’s notice, which is important for growing companies.
