Aims
and Objectives
-
To provide a forum
for bringing together scientists, technologists and engineers in the field
of semiconductors for a coordinated and coherent research and development
effort.
-
To disseminate
information on the manpower and R&D facilities in the field available
in the country within and outside the community.
-
To explore and
facilitate pooling down of resources – both human and infrastructural –
available at various institutions in the country to achieve a meaningful
impact of the R&D effort in the field; for example, through collaborative
R&D projects and exchange visits of semiconductor scientists and engineers
and research students between various institutions.

To help introduce
and develop teaching curricula in the field at the educational institutions
through a wider sharing of experience.

To promote and
protect the interests of the community through collective efforts from
the platform of the Society.

To highlight the
vital importance of the field for the economic development of the country
to the public at large and to the Government so as to promote greater government
commitment and allocation of financial resources to the R&D effort
in the field.

To develop and
promote international collaborative links of the society and its members
with the overseas R&D institutions and relevant international organizations.

To hold periodical
meetings, symposia, conferences, exhibitions and workshops in line with
the aims and objectives given above.

To publish research/R&D
journal and/or newsletter in line with the aims and objectives of the society.
