Rishi Kapoor mouthing these
sweet nothings (I'm not a poet, but o beautiful- since I've seen you,
I've started making poetry) took the entire India by storm when the
film 'Bobby' was released. Well I can't help reminiscing these words now
that I start to right about my exploits- my achievements, creations and
the like. Its a known fact that no work of art or whatever can take
shape in your mind unless there's some inspiration. The romantic would
attribute it to their beloved. But I fail to agree. Yes even I feel that
unless there's some inspiration for you you don't usually come up with
anything worthwhile- like maybe a short story or a painting. While the
romantic angle cannot be totally ignored, with me it has often taken a
backseat. Well I have to admit that the couple of short-stories I've
managed to pen down may be attributed by the sudden surge in the romance
inside me, what would you attribute the guitar tutorials to?
'A Cup of Tea and the Bus which
never Came' was my first short story. I had a few plots in my mind since
Class 12 but this was the first one I had the courage to type out. Yes I
didn't put it on paper at all but typed it in front of my PC and it was
over in two nights, sleepless though they were. I got so much into the
character of Sujoy that I couldn't sleep for a few days. And it was a
feeling that I still treasure. |
Next came 'Chanda Ki Doli'. This also came
out of quite an old plot of mine. I had started working on it and I revealed the
plot to one of my friends (her name is Monami) over the telephone. She was
surprised and said the plot is very similar to the music video of a song called
'Chanda Ki Doli' by Sonu Nigam. I worked on my story for the next two days and
finally completed it and published it in the FriendzForLife forum. I had
realized that like Monami many would think that I've stolen the plot from the
music video of 'Chanda Ki Doli'. And that made me name my second short-story 'Chanda
Ki Doli'.
Now I have to add that since my stories are
based in Kolkata, quite a few of the dialogues are in Bengali/ Hindi. This may
cause inconvenience to some of my readers who are from outside West Bengal. For
them I do plan to translate the dialogues to English in the near future. If you

Guitar occupied a very important part in my
life ever since I joined college. I am quite a good learner. And in addition to
this I can also, I think, claim to be a serious student cum researcher in Music.
And the absence of any good tutorials made me sit up and write what I am
learning. I can't claim to be an ace guitarist at this point of time. But I know
what problems newbies face and so my tutorial is exclusively for beginners.
