Basic Rules
Rules, rules, rules. Some of you may say, "Why do we need these stupid rules?" Well, they're here to make things more fun. If everyone listens to them, everyone will have a better time.

1) The PMRPG takes place at the
Paper Mario *Social* at GameFAQs.com.

2) Don't make crappy posts. You know what I mean by that, and I don't just mean a poopy post. RP and have fun. For example:

Samurai Guy walks through Toad Town to Harry's Shop.

Samurai Guy approached the spring and leaps out of the Toybox. He lightly taps to wall to exit, and slinks out of the house, as to not be seen be any hostile Toads. Using the cover of the night, he makes his way towards Harry's shop to stock up on supplies not available to him.

3) Money - The money used in the Mushroom Kingdom is coins. All players start out with 125 coins. The only way to earn coins is to work, usually. Occasionally coins can be found lying around, but it's rare. The only job to get a set salary is a Leader.

4) Players - Normal Players are what most of you are. They work, conspire, fight, etc. Leaders are the head of their races. They have a lot more responsibilities, including placing NPC troops and deciding where to spend coins. NPCs, or Non-player Characters, are either temporary Shop keepers (until a PC can take it's place), or soldiers for a leader. The entire race of Toads and Shy Guys are NPCs. NPCs also include famous ones with special talents like Merlon or Koopa Koot.

5) Day/Night - Obviously, Day and Night are important, since night usually covers conspicuos activity. Day begins at 7:00 AM, GFaqs time, and Night begins at 7:30 PM, GFaqs time.

6) Time/Season/Years - While a day is a day, a year is a month in the PMRPG. The seasons start with Winter in the beginning of the month and end with winter. The seasons are as follows...

Winter: 1st of the month - 6th of the month.
Spring: 7th of the month - 14th of the month
Summer: 15th of the month - 22rd of the month
Autummn: 23th of the month - 29th of the month
Winter: 29th of the month - End of the month

In Winter, the desert is slightly more bareable. In the summer, icy terrain is easier to cross. In the Spring, many flowers grow. In the autumn, many harvest festivals are held.

7) Death - Yea, death sucks. If you die, you lose everything. All your skills, weapons, items, etc. except what is stored in a bank. That can be retrieved later. It may be fustrating when you die, as you'll have to start over. (And you can't use the same character, although a very similar one with an altered name is fine.) Look at the bright side, you get to play as someone else. If you don't want to die, avoid combat, or carry a rare Life Shroom. If you die and have things stored in a bank, approach the banker and say your key code to retrieve your items/weapons. For a list of those unfortunate people who've died, go to
Star Haven.

8) Keep track of your character's info. I won't do it for you, but if you get caught cheating, there will be repercussions.

9) Please follow the rules. The RPG won't work without them. I will appoint people to be PMRPG Moderators, to make sure the players are following the rules. If you are caught cheating, your case will be reviewed by the PMRPG Mods and a penalty will be given, with the most severe being an instruction to all players to ignore your RPing form them on.

10) Controlling Characters - This is very important. One of the things I was complaining about in the Legacy of the Sphere Spinoff was the controlling of other characters. I mean little things, like them agreeing with you or saying a certain thing. While it was fine there to make funny scenes, you are only allowed to do it here with explicit permission. And don't stretch it. Even something like "Fice T waves at Tayce T, who waves back" may ruin Tayce T's game, for what if she didn't like Fice, or didn't know him, or had broken her arm?

11) Playing often, while not necessary, is helpful to both you and your character. When you aren't on, make sure you character is doing something, like making wares, regaining strength, or gathering materials.

12) Leaders should go
here to find out what to do.

13) Anyone who needs something from the leader, like a building or an escort guard, must apply for it first, and the leader will then decide to give it or not.

14) NO CHEESEWIZZING!

15) No matter how hard they've been partying, you can
not sneak into the terrirory of an enemy race and assassinate their leader.  It just doesn't work.

16) While you may know certain things about happenings throughout the rest of the RPG, your character often does not.  Characters cannot know secrets or just stumble onto hidden objects that you as a player know about without a good reason for your player character to know
.
