Committees All church committee members shall be recommended by the nominating committee and elected by the church, unless otherwise indicated in the description below. The committees shall be nomiinated and elected annually. Long Range Planning Committee This committee shall consist of five (5) members, nominated by the nominating committee and lected by the church. 1. The purpose of this committee is to project long range plans and goals for the church. 2. Set-up a ten (10) year program of growth expansion and building development. 3. Study the growth pattern of the Church area. 4. Study the growth pattern of the City of Austin. 5. Make long range projections for expansions and development. 6. Make recommendations to the Church committees of goals for meeting expansion needs and development. 7. Committee is responsible to the Church for quarterly reports. 8. Committee to work closely with the Church Council in all future plans. Pulpit Committee This committee shall consist of seven (7) members. This committee shallbe appointed by the church to seek out a suitable pastor, and their recommendation will constutute a nomination, though any member has the privilege of making nominations according to the policy established by the Church. Vaction Bible School This committee will work with the Director, to be elected during the regular election of officers, and teachers, etc. 1. This committee to present to the church for approval a date of the most opportune time for the Bible School to be held. 2. To work with the Director, and the Pastor in securing the Bible School materials, teachers, workers, etc. Finance, Budget, and Purchasing Committee This committee shall consist of five (5) members nominated in the nominating committee and elected by the church. The Church treasurer will serve on this committee, but as a non-voting member. 1. Committee will analyze the past; giving and anticipate future growth in giving. 2. Committee will present to the church an annual proposed budget to become effective at the beginning of the church year. This bedget shall be presented at the September Business Meeting. 3. Committee will present to the church any non-budgeted items that may arise during the church year. 4. Committee will elect or select within its body three (3) members to do the purchasing of all necessary supplies. 5. All request for supplies should be given to the committee at least seven (7) days before it is needed. 6. Any and all items exceeding one-hundred ($100.00) dollars shall be presented to the church at a regualr business meeting for apprval or disapproval. 7. These are other than salaries, administrative expenses and office supplies. |
