Committees All church committee members shall be recommended by the nominating committee and elected by the church, unless otherwise indicated in the description below. The committees shall be nomiinated and elected annually. Church Council: 1. The church council shall have regular members consisting of the Pastor, Music Director, Sunday School Director, Church Training Director, Brotherhood Chairman, W.M.U. Chairman, Chairman of the Board of Deacons, Youth Leader, Nursery cooderator, Treasurer, Church clerk, Secretary, Bus Ministry Director, Outreach Director, and one (1) member at large. 2. The primary finctions of the Council shall be to recommend to the congregation suggested objectives and Church goals. 3. To review and coordinate program plans recommened by Church officers, organizations, and committees. 4. To recommend to the congregation the use of leadership, calender time, and other resources according to program priorities, and to evaluate program achievements in terms of Church goals and objectives. 5. The congregation to approve or disapprove any recommendations presented by the committee. Nominating Committee This committee shall consist of five (5) members. 1. Three members shall be nominated by the present Nominating Committee and elected by the church, during the June business meeting. 2. These three (3) members shall make recommendation to the church for Sunday School Director and Church Training Director for the coming Church year as soon as possible. 3. After church election of teh two directors, then these five (5) will compose the nominating Committe. 4. This committee shall elect their own chairman. 5. This committee shall make its final recomendation to the church in the Sept. business conference. 6. The Nominating Committee will present to the church the staff of teachers and officers of the church on an annual basis. 7. Committee will be responsible for filling any vacancies created by resignation of any teacher or offiver intil the 1st of October. 8. The committee will present their recomendation to the church at the earliest business meeeting. 9. Committee may serve to fill vacancies on a tempory basis until the church can take action. 10. All church leadership [psitions will be filled by volunteers. 11. No recomendations shall come from the Nominating Committee in regards to W.M.U., Brotherhood, and Auxiliaries. These positions will be filled within the organizations. 12. The committee will be responsible for asking for resignations of workers in the case of negligency or long illness, or disinterest. 13. This Committte shall meet when needed. Personnel Committee This committee shall consist of two (2) members as nominated by the nominating committee and elected by the Church. The personnel committee assists the Church in matters related to employed personnel. 1. Its works inclide such areas as determining staff needs, salaries, benefits, and personnel services. 2. On budgeted items it will work with the Budget, Finance, and Purchasing committee. This committee shall have the authority to hire or relieve of duties any personnel. This shall include custodian, nursery worker, ets. This does not include the Pastor or staff members. |
