Mark and Nicki trade punches, but the fight remains deadlocked after Week 7

It's like a heavyweight boxing match between two skilled fighters who keep battling to a draw. For the fifth straight week, Mark and Nicki finished with identical overall records in the Sunday Football Picks. They took the top spot in Week 7 by going 10-3, but again failed to break their longstanding tie. Mark and Nicki are both 58-35 on the season, trailing D.J. by one game.

Just like a boxing analysis, let's look at the tale of the tape to see how these two fierce Picks competitors match up:

Height: Mark boasts a decisive advantage in this category, being able to dunk a basketball and reach any kitchen shelf without pulling up a chair to stand on. Nicki is of average height for a woman, and that's not close to being enough here. Edge: Mark

Weight: Mark's bulk dominates the scale over Nicki's petite frame. However, one could argue that carrying around fewer chunkies is to one's advantage. Less mass means better health. Doctors agree. Edge: Nicki

Strength: Mark can do more than 40 pushups on a whim and lift Nicki above his head just like Hulk Hogan picked up Sylvester Stallone in "Rocky III." Nicki doesn't stand a fighting chance in a muscle comparison, regardless of her feistiness. Edge: Mark

Brainpower: When Nicki was 7 years old, she was already being described as the "brains of the family" by her older sister. Her educational path of honors courses, advanced placement classes and sparkling report cards is most impressive, despite Mark's college degree and broader knowledge base. It's a close battle, but the heady Glenbard East student has what it takes. Has Mark even read a book? Edge: Nicki

Social skills: While Mark appears to make friends easily and does get along with a wide range of people, we also know he's been ejected from a little girls softball game, and can get super competitive with anyone, even children. Nicki, on the other hand, gets along with others without any of these silly problems. Edge: Nicki

Popularity: Nicki has loads of friends and personal connections throughout town, and even has appeared on the ABC7 News. But Mark is on a first-name basis with hundreds of body shop owners throughout the suburbs, not counting everyone else he knows. Edge: Mark

Net worth: Nicki is jobless and relies on a weekly allowance from her father, while Mark has been gainfully employed for decades and owns his own house and car. The teenager has some catching up to do here. Edge: Mark

Dessert compartment: Without even analyzing Mark's side of this, Nicki locked up this category many years ago when she devoured something like 20 pieces of Boston Cream Pie in a single sitting as a tiny 2-year-old. Edge: Nicki

Video games: It's a well-known fact that the Mark-created character of Udubu from Kenya opens cans of whoop-ass on any competitor daring to challenge him in Olympic sports on PlayStation. It's all in the fingers with that superfast button pushing. Nicki only has Guitar Hero as a notch in her belt. Edge: Mark

Attractiveness: Please. Edge: Nicki

Darts: Get into a showdown with one of these competitors at the dartboard, and be ready to get lit up by triple 20s. And it's not Nicki you're worried about. Edge: Mark

Singing: While Mark may have some experience belting out a tune in his morning shower or during his drive to work, he's not the one who performed on a karaoke stage this year on the world's largest cruise ship. The crowd loved it. Edge: Nicki

Totaling the results from the dozen categories, it's a 6-6 tie, so the Sunday Football Picks will have to serve as the determining factor in crowning the better competitor in life. Who's your money on?
