| After Climbing Split Mountain, we went South on the PCT/JMT and went off the Main trail to Bench Lake. It was a pretty lake and did have some fishing. | |||||||||||||||||||

| Day 9: We went up from Bench Lake, to what the map said was some marshes. But we found a lake. It appears that there is some volcanic activity here. Notice the Trees just above a deep part of the lake . Also notice that there is a dead tree with rootes attached in the deep water. It appears that this area has been sinking. And what was a mash is now becoming a lake, little by little. | |||||||||||||||||||

| We then cross over Arrow Pass, and started the 3000' climb down. Above tree line it was easly, but as we got closer to paradise valley, it got steep. We started using Deer trails, and finaly brushing for a little while. After that we came apon the Paradise Valley Trail. (To see blow up of 13" fish, click photo below.) |
