Oregon trip, August 2007

Cal Or State line (Hwy 97)

This was our first bike trip to Oregon, altho I have made many in a Big Rig over the years. We had a good time even though the weather could have been a little better. We left out on a Sunday morning, the picture above was taken on US 97 on our way to Bend, Or. where we spent two nights and one full day.

Our bike parked outside our room.

I have a picture of our bike outside each room we have stayed in on all of our trips. The Picture on the right is of the room in Bend, Or. Just the other side (back) of this building is a small river. We had a patio door that let us go right down to the river. The ducks just love this river, we had some right outside our room the whole time we were there. The picture on the left was taken just north of Klamath Falls, Or. along the north shore of Klamath Lake, on our way to Bend.

We arrived in Bend about 4:00 in the afternoon (Sun.), since our room was not ready we had a drink and shot a little pool. Once the room was ready we had a shower, then went to supper. The next day (Mon.) we spent seeing the "Lava River Cave" & " the high desert and wildlife museum" some pictures from each are below:

On Tuesday we packed up and headed for the coast. We went over Hwys 20 & 126, this put us on the 101 in Florence, Or. We spent Wednesday seeing the Sea Lion cave & the Aquarium. Below are some pictures from both:

Check-in in Florence, Oregon

This picture was taken from the entrance of the Hotel, of the bike parked where one parks for checkin. I took the picture standing in the entrance to the lobby, which is at the top of three steps. This place was also right along a river, but we were up on a cliff without access to the river.

From here we rode on down the coast along the 101 to Eureka, Ca. for our last night before heading home. Below is a picture I took at a rest brake along hiway 299 on the way home.
