Master Your Body The Body Bar Series is a twenty plus volume collection of fitness videos offering a variety of different workouts for all fitness ranges. The best way to describe these videos are fresh and innovative promoted in a professional atmosphere. The videos are broken down into four sections strength and conditioning, cardio and strength, sports training, and mind/body influenced. What I like about these videos are they are done by excellent instructors, they pack a lot of workout in 30 to 60 minutes, cover a variety of different types of fitness, and offer many innovative moves not found in many fitness videos. What keeps me coming back to these videos are you do not outgrown them, as you achieve a level, you can opt to do move advanced variations or go up to the next bar level. Control is one area these videos offer and form is stressed in all the videos, doing reps at a slower pace makes the workouts harder when you have to work at control and form which are very important aspects of strength training. In many of the videos you will pick up the pace, but I have never felt so out of control like I have in other videos that I am sacrificing form just to perform the move. Also some of these video incorporate some really tough moves to challenge your body and that is where I have seen the most gains in athletic performance in other areas of my life. ![]() Armed and Dangerous Volume 19 instructor Andre Houle runtime 30 minutes for beginner to advanced offers strength and definition and part of the Strength and Conditioning series. This video is fun and challenging and requires a classic body bar and a mini bar. You alternate between the two bars and part of the express series.. Using a body bar you warm up and then alternate between using the long and the short bar. You do a variety of arm and shoulder exercises including bicep curls, French presses, concentration curls, military presses, one arm rows, one arm bicep curls, one arm military press, chest press, push ups and more. You also do different variations of an exercise such as with bicep curls you do half way up, full range, and upper short range. You end with a stretch. ![]() Deep Definition Volume 20 instructor Rob Glick runtime 60 minutes for intermediate to advanced offers definition, symmetry, and strength and part of the Strength and Conditioning series. Grab your bar and for the next 60 minutes you will work your muscles in many different angles. (Future write up planned.) ![]() Equanimity Volume 21 instructor Lashaun Dale runtime 60 minutes for intermediate to advanced offers alignment, endurance, and strength and part of the Strength and conditioning series. This video require a stability ball, classic body bar, mini-bar and with the aid of the ball it make for a challenging workout. ![]() This video uses a stability bar, classic body bar, and two mini-bars. The workout challenges your body because of the instability of the ball which makes this workout tough. Some of the exercises are planks, push up, lunges, squats along with exercises for the triceps and biceps while incorporating the stability ball into the moves. I did not have two identical mini-bars so substituted two dumbbells instead for areas where I could not use just one mini-bar. ![]() Pilates Strength Volume 22 instructor Clare Dunphy 50 minutes for intermediate to advanced, offers core strength, endurance, and flexibility and part of the Mind/Body series. ![]() Explode Volume 23 instructor Mindy Mylrea runtime 65 minutes for intermediate to advanced offers cardio, power, endurance and part of the Cardio and Strength series. This video requires a Bosu Ball. This video requires a Bosu Ball but can be done without one, a step platform will also work. This fun aerobic strength tape alternates between aerobic segements and cardio segments. I found this tape fun, effective, challenging, and a very high energy type workout that got my heart rate going. You can adjust the intensity of the workout, by using a lighter or heavier bars such as if you use a light bar, using a slightly heavier bar will adds intensity to the workout. If the workout is too difficult, dropping to a lower weight bar will drop the intensity of course, if the tape is still too difficult, try it on the floor without the Bosu Ball. ![]() Burn Volume 24 instructor Keli Roberts runtime 55 minutes for beginner to intermediate offers cardio, strength, and balance and part of the Cardio and Strength series. This video requires a Bosu Ball. To get the full benefit from the tape a Bosu Ball and body bar are required. The tape shows modifications where you can do the tape without the Bosu Ball, I used a step platform instead of the Bosu Ball the first time I did this tape. This tape alternates between aerobic and toning intervals and a lot of focus is done on balance. The beginning on the tape offers an introduction to the Bosu Ball and some handy tips such as wearing cross training shoes and making sure your laces are tied up etc... What makes this tape very challenging is doing the exercises on a Bosu Ball produces and instable environment for you to work with. Combine this with a weighted body bar and very simple exercises such as a one legged squat becoming very challenging. ![]() Strength Resolutions (step) Volume 25 instructor Lashaun Dale runtime 60 minutes for intermediate to advanced offers total body strength, endurance, and balance and part of the Strength and Conditioning series.
