Last weekend, may 27, & 28, I spent the weekend at the local yacht harbor taking a course on the operation of 26 foot sailboats. The course was a lot of fun with a lot of "hands on" time with the boats. I got to practice at different jobs, helmsman, mail sail operator, jib man, but I my favorite was bowman. It was a lot of fun going through the drills of rigging up the jib sail and spinnaker and then when my job was done I could relax and enjoy the view. On Sunday, our last day of the course, we took a short cruise about 15 miles north to another yacht harbor. It was a beautiful sunny, windy day. The kind of day that is perfect for sailing!!
