Monday 9th June - Alasdair Roberts and Sharron Kraus
Alasdair's new album "Farewell Sorrow" has just been released on Rough Trade. According to the press release, it is an album of "twelve sweetly lyrical songs and savage ballads". Sharron is one of my favourite local performers, often sharing the stage with the likes of fiddle player Jane Griffiths and Jonny and Colin Fletcher. Her style of folk music is reminiscent of greats like Anne Briggs but freshly modern, dark, and sometimes gothic.
Doors 8pm, Open Slots from 8.30pm £3.50 / £2.50 with flyer. £1 for other performers.
Monday 16th June - Adrian Rox
Adrian played an all too short spot last year so he's back, playing a full set. After clocking up over 100 gigs last year, he has just recorded his new four track single, samples from which can be heard on his website. Expect rock tunes from the heart.
