OUT WHERE THE PEOPLE ARE

Many times we ask the Lord, "Can it get any worse than this?"

It does.

Prices increase continually in our nation.  With that, criminality and other illegal activities increase as well.

Then, a fiscal crisis...

If not for the word of the Lord, we will just pack up and leave.  But our God does speak.  And so we press on...

Arise, shine;
For your light has come!
And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you.
For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,
And deep darkness the people;
But the LORD will rise over you,
And His glory will be seen upon you.
(Isaiah 60:1-2)

Loose the bonds of wickedness...
Undo the heavy burdens...
Let the oppressed go free...
Break every yoke...
Share your bread with the hungry...
Bring to your house the poor who are cast out...
The naked... cover him...
Then your light shall break forth like the morning...
(Isaiah 58:6-8)

Saturday, August 21, we conducted our very first Sidewalk Sunday School in the slums.  Approximately 130 children attended the activity.

We're planning our second Sidewalk Sunday School in the same slum area.  This time, we also plan to conduct a Sidewalk Youth Jam in the evening.  Aside from these, the Lord is also leading us (through Isaiah 58 and other scriptures) to conduct on-going humanitarian ministries in the community.  Our long term goal is to win and disciple fathers, mothers... whole families for Christ... out where they live!
