One of our former winners, Frank Wright, donated a print for us to sell to raise money for future competitions and awards.
Frank Wright is a prominent Washington, D.C. artist and Professor ofFine Arts at George Washington University. A former NSAL scholarship recipient, his works are in many public and private collections, including WintonBlount Collection in Montgomery, Alabama; Perpetual Bank; Kiplinger WashingtonEditors; Charles E. Smith Companies; and Oliver T. Carr Company, all ofWashington, D.C. Mr. Wright has exhibited in museums and galleries throughoutthe country, including the Kennedy Galleries in New York; the SoutheasternCenter for Contemporary Art, Winston-Salem, North Carolina; the CorcoranGallery of Art (which gave him a retrospective exhibition in 1981, andthe IMF Visitors' Center which hosted a retrospective exhibition in 1986.This summer, the Cosmos Club in Washington, D.C. is exhibiting a retrospectiveof the works of Frank Wright.
