Technical and Historical Notes
|
A major problem with the XXXG-01FB2 Frostblade Odin Custom was its lack of a long range flight system. The Gundam required the use of shuttles or fuel recharges for travel over expansive distances. Magus ignored this problem until it became cost prohibitive and began to search for other solutions. At the time UESA did not have engineers to spare to create a solution so Magus contracted the outside mobile suit manufacturer, Satelicon, to develope a solution to the problem. Wishing to find a universal solution to the problem Satelicon began studying the Gundam blueprints given to them by Magus.
Using parts from the prototypes Satelicon was going to use to build a replacement to the Taurus model, they created a fighter jet type unit, under the model number FXA-05F. After numerous tests and part replacements, Satelicon borrowed the XXXG-01PM1 Gundam Peace Maker from UESA. Using this Gundam they tested the transformable mechanisms on their prototype fighter. The tests proved successful in allowing the pilot of the Gundam to fully take control of the FXA-05F G-Falcon and use it as a booster system, when the G-Falcon connected to the Gundam in a backpack type arrangement.
The FXA-05F G-Falcon's blueprint as well as the one prototype were delivered to Magus. The G-Falcon prototype was then overhauled by the Section 4 maintnence crew and put into service. The transformation system was modified during the overhaul and a passcode system was added. Each pilot in UESA was given a passcode as well as having their fingerprint and retina scan put into the G-Falcon's computer system under heavy encryption. When a pilot wishes to dock with the G-Falcon, the pilot must transmit their passcode as well as having a retina and fignerprint scan. If accepted the transformation system activates and the G-Falcon's cockpit system detatches for use as a conventional fighter.
