Afterlife

I neither believe in an afterlife or reincarnation. I subscribe rather to string theory (more on this later)  as a way to explain the universe. Basically, what we interpret as the Euclidean three-dimensional space we call reality is a cross section of the fourth dimension; time. The particles, waves, and forces that comprise the universe aren't actually finite points as we perceive them but, rather they are long strings of information that span the entire length of the time continuum.

There is a point in physics, as Fritjov Kapra pointed out, that the universe begins to look like nothing more than a great thought. I prefer to think of it as a song -- played on these strings -- vibrating at different frequencies and resonance like the strings of a piano or a guitar.

I think there are harmonics that compliment each other -- or some that may clash. And -- like a song that we can play again and again -- we may be 'played' again another time -- or we may be such a powerful melody that we resonate for a long, long, time...

But, no, no afterlife. No reincarnation. Just harmonics and repeat plays.
