Knitted Shamrock Dish Cloth
2005 Nicole's Crochet Bistro
This cloth is my first attempt at writing a knitting pattern. I wasn't able to find a St. Patrick's Day themed cloth that I liked online, so I decided to take a stab at designing my own! My best friend Lyz found a graph of a shamrock at about.com, and I'm adapting it into a dishcloth. I would classify this pattern as a beginner pattern, but you do need to count the stitches carefully. Hopefully you enjoy trying out this pattern as much as I did creating it!
A note from Nicole: This cloth didn't work out to be square as I had hoped. I am thinking of adding a few more rows of st st after the inner border at the beginning, and before the inner border at the end to make it more square.
What Do I Need?
I used a ball of "Shades of Green" Bernat Handicrafter worsted weight cotton yarn and a pair of size 6 knitting needles, but you could use any colour of yarn and your favourite pair of "dishcloth" needles!
Cast on 43 stitches {sts}.
