MPCY for printed media The MPC youths have slammed the government for showing favouritism to the electronic media and neglecting the printed media. In a press release, the MPCY said the frequent neglection of the printed media in regard to ministers' programmes and opening of projects is a clear indication of the government's favouritism policy.
Mizo girls to participate in U-19 NFCThe Mizoram Football Association is sending 20 female footballers to participate in the U-19 National Football Championships 2002 to be held in Diphu, Assam. The Mizoram team, which will play on September 28 & 30 and October 2, will enter the quarter finals direct since they had reached the thord position last year. The team will leave Aizawl on Tuesday with 4 MFA officials.
We are not safe under MNF ministry : MPCAn MPC party general headquarters meeting on Monday said with arms and ammunitions being seized from MNF leaders from time to time, the Mizo people are not safe under the MNF ministry. Citing three cases, the MPC said a number of AK-47s with ammo were seized from an MNYF leader's vehicle on the Aizawl - Silchar road while recently, 2 AK-47s were again seized from the taxi of an important MNF leader and another important MNF leader and leaders of a rebel outfit were found out while searching for AK-47 ammunition to purchase.
T Sailo's grandson's poems to be releasedA book of poems entitled Spectrum, composed by Laldinkima Sailo, grandson of Brig T Sailo, former CM, is to be released in New Delhi by Dr Manmohan Singh, MP on October 1, 2002 at the India International Centre. Laldinkima Sailo, who have been studying in Bishop Cotton School, Shimla, is now studying in St Stephen's College, Delhi. Brig T Sailo have invited a number of persons from Mizoram to this release.
