Hospital water shortage because of pipe blockage
The Medical superintendent, Aizawl Civil Hospital has given an explanation for the recent water shortage at the hospital resulting in postponement of surgeries last week. According to the MS, Dr B Baruah, debris had blocked the pipe leading from the water pump to the rooftop tank which is pumped from an underground tank. Since the blockage was not realised as the cause at the time, surgeries were postponed.

Industries minister K Thangzualla, on whose land the main camp is situated, was the chief guest.
Goodwill painting competition on Tuesday
The Assam Rifles Goodwill Painting Competition will be held at the A R Parade ground in the city on October 15. The theme of the competition will be Peace and Friendship.
MZP gives ultimatum for recall of candidates
The Mizo Zirlai Pawl has given an ultimatum to the government to recall its candidates of Higher & Technical Education department�s higher course in which a number of non-Mizos had been given seats. The MZP said the government should recall the candidates and cancel its orders alloting seats to non-Mizos in the MBBS and other technical courses for 2002.
Beth Israel Mizoram takes out procession
The section of the Mizo people who believe Mizos are one of the lost tribes of Israel took out a procession Saturday in the city to celebrate the announcement of Mizos as Israelites by Beth Israel International president Jonathan Kahn in Washington before the US president on Oct 11.
