PHE workers call off strike

PHE workcharge and muster employees, who had been on strike from September 30 called off their strike Saturday after Chief Minister Zoramthanga assured them of regular payment of their wages. Zoramthanga had apparently told these employees that workers who discharge their duties will have no difficulties in getting their wages. They are to resume duties from today.

PAMRA and Black Crow

The PAMRA has sent an open letter to those calling themselves Black Crow and Black Revenger, who had threatened Chief Minister Zoramthanga with dire consequences for alleged mis-governance, saying they should come out in the open if they are really against corruption and not spread terror. "If not, we, the Peace Accord MNF Returnees Association, will track you down," their letter said.

Crusade venue changed to Vaivakawn field

The Joint Crusade of Thlarau Thianghlim Crusaders and Herald for Christ will be held at Vaivakawn playground instead of the intended AR Playground because of non-issuance of permission of the grounds by the AR authorities. A resulting meeting of the organising committee for this crusade chaired by Aizawl District DC C Ropianga on Saturday passed an expenditure of Rs 6 lakhs for the preparation of the ground with the work given to the Aizawl West II joint YMA. Three speakers will give Bible addresses during the crusade. They are Lalfakawma of Herald for Christ, T Lalhmachhuani of Thlarau Thianghlim Crusaders and Sangtei, wife of the current Synod Moderator.

Kohli campaigns for self-sufficiency

The Mizoram governor, who had been touring the southern most districts of the state stressed the need for self-sufficiency in foodgrains and asked the people to work hard to attain this. He visited several villages in Saiha district Saturday.
