FANZINE NEWS

JUDAS TO CEASE PUBLICATION AT THE END OF 2006
The new (Number 18, July 2006) issue of Judas!, which has just landed on my door mat, is the bearer of bad new about itself. Editor Andrew Muir announces that the quarterly is to cease publication with a double issue (19/20), due in December 2006. Pity. While it has its weaknesses (what organ doesnt?), each issue of the quarterly has always been welcomed by this subscriber. It has published a laudable proportion of in-depth feature articles which will have enriched its readers appreciation of Dylans magisterial work. So, Adieu Judas! And thanks to publisher Woodstock and Editor Andrew Muir.

THE HISTORY OF DYLAN FANZINES
There has been at least 30 Dylanzines over the years. First one was published already in 1969. At present there are still four (or three) Dylanzines in action: ISIS, Judas (defunct from 2007), The Bridge, Fanzimmer (Spain), Dignity (defunct, last issue Dec 2002), On The Tracks (defunct, last issue Dec 2003). ISIS is the longest running Dylanzine of all times, currently 21 years old! ISIS has already achieved the golden age of 126 issues, thousands and thousands pages of Dylan articles. It's quite an achievement!

Below you will find some useful information about these and also links in case of Dylanzines that have also a website in action. I will arrange the presentations so that major dylanzines come first and the lesser known are presented after them.

(Edit. This project has been a long time coming and still is! So, please check this page again after some months....)
