Organogenesis and Embryoid formation in Callus Culture
The Callus was initiated from the the small
green stems and leafs of mature trees. Organogenesis and induction of
embryoids were attempted. Different types of callus were induced.
Organogenesis of the root was observed in puffy callus. Embryoid like
structures were observed in more compact globular callus. The work was not
extensive when compared to coconut and cashew had to be terminated to give
importance to other commercially important plants. Author is confident
that little concentrated effort would lead to development of complete
plantlets from callus culture
