Dear Allan et al,
Getting CB back in print? An absolutely splendid idea. I currently
have five out-of-print and rare book specialists here in the UK looking
for a copy for me, and none of them has come up with anything. Neither
have any of the online bookstores with the exception of Barnes and Noble,
who wanted a three-figure sum for a second-hand copy. Now if the book's
fetching that sort of money, it HAS to be worth reprinting.
My personal experience of CBs dates back to 1992 (I think) when a great
friend (since lost touch - if anyone knows Jason Manners, tell him to
call me!) leant me a copy which he'd borrowed from someone. It was, and
still is, without doubt or exaggeration, simply the best book I've ever read.
And I read a lot.
Have you looked at the 22 (I think) reviews of CB on amazon.com? They'd
probably add to the cause quite well. Here's the link:

One final thought: Many years later, another CB reminded me of Cosmic
Banditos; Christopher Brookmyre. His first two (three?) books were
published by Abacus here in the UK; if they've any sense, they'd publish
CB too.
Best of luck
James
