This spreadsheet has some budget information for four school districts:
- Kenai,
- Anchorage,
- Fairbanks and
- Mat-Su
Patrick Shier has compiled this from publically available information. The budget information is incomplete, since the districts are not making it easy to find out how little they actually spend on the children.
The budget figures show how much the districts spend on anything but the students, and what percentage that is of their entire budget. Unfortunately, since the information is incomplete, these numbers are only a lower bound: the actual amount which they are spending on overhead such as administration, junkets, and so on, is surely much higher.
The spreadsheet also shows the amount of funding each district gets from the State, and from the local tax payers, in total and per student.
