YCCCA operates as a non-profit organization under the scrutiny of Legislation within the Province of Ontario, Canada. YCCCA serves the purpose to promote, support and protect the social and cultural welfare and intersest of its members within the area of York Region, Ontario. The Chinese population in York Region mostly resides in Richmond Hill, Thornhill and Vaughan. YCCCA also has members who live in Scarborough, North York, Markham and Unionville.

| Cost | Fall/Winter session - Sept. 11, 2008 to Jan 29th, 2009. Advanced - $40 (It includes one 1.5 hours review session a month on a Friday at Walter Scott Public School (Major Mac/Bayview) For $60, it includes all classes Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels. It also includes all review sessions at Walter Scott Public School (Major Mac/Bayview) For new members (plus $10 for YCCCA annual single membership or $15 for Family membership.). For returning members, annual membership fees are paid when expires before joining classes. Part of your tuition fee will be donated to support CALCY and other charities under the name of York Central Chinese Canadian Association. |

| Class Size and Guests | Class size is 50+. Guest visit is welcome, and each guest must pay a guest fee of $5 for the evening and can then participate fully in the class. (The guest fee will be re-imbursed as the tuition fee should the individual decides to join the class) |

websites, although some sites will require membership fees. I will try
to publish dancesheets for those linedances that I teach in class. As a special service, if you're a Doncrest/YCCCA member, you can email me to request dancesheets for those dances that I have taught in the past. Other dance materials will also be provided for free. |

What does it mean? I received the email from Kate Sala, the choreographer of this dance who explained to me the meaning of Shakatak. The name of the song "Ciega Sordamuda" translated means Blind, Deaf and Dumb. The lyrics is in Spanish as is Shakira who sings it. The song is about a girl who is stuck in a relationship with a bad guy. She tries to ignore the situation as she is in love with him. So there is a balttle going on within her heart and that is why Kate Sala called it "Shakatak" Shakira Attack. What does it mean? I received the email from Kate Sala, the choreographer of this dance. She explained to me the meaning of Shakatak. The name of the song "Ciega Sordamuda" translated means Blind, Deaf and Dumb. The lyrics is in Spanish as is Shakira who sings it. The song is about a girl who is stuck in a relationship with a bad guy. She tries to ignore the situation as she is in love with him. So there is a balttle going on within her heart and that is why Kate Sala called it "Shakatak" Shakira Attack. Pronounced as Sha-a-tak. Based on my research, you can visit http://www.nd.edu/~archives/latin.htm (Latin to English dictionary), Su means "sew together or stitch together", be means "very rare". Amor is a very common Latin word and is used in Spanish and Italian, it means "Love". So, put that together, Sube-Amor means "Stitch together a very rare love", i.e. it's a love song.
