The Hudsonian Whiteface is a small black dragonfly with a white face and a black spot at the base of each hindwing. Males are marked with red, and females may be marked with red or yellow on the thorax and top of abdomen.

Habitat: marshes, bogs and fens

Great Plains Range: NE, CO, WY, MT, MN

Flight season: May to September
