The processes that a project goes through on the
road to completion are constantly being revised and renewed. This
being the case one part of those processes, on an in-house level,
will always be the same. That is the process of initial data
gathering and organizing and the construction of working drawings.
Once the determination to do a job "in-house" has
been made, a request for additional information gathering should be
made to the Supervisor for CADD/GIS section. This generally will
include verified drawings of the project area and any other facility
information necessary for design. Once this request is made a
reasonable need date will be agreed upon between the supervisor and
the project manager. The project will then be assigned a
draftsperson and all additional requirements should be coordinated
through the assigned draftsperson and/or the supervisor. Once the
initial data is collected the drawings, etc. will be turned over to
the project manager and any additional work should be coordinated
through the Supervisor for CADD/GIS.
This process accomplishes two goals: to free up the
project manager to allow him/her to go on with the design work
necessary and to allow for the consistent and proper construction of
CADD datasets
