Quite a few sororities claim to be" multicultural" when they are actually cultural with diverse/multicultural membership. If an organization's traditions, ceremonies, etc. are heavily influenced by only one culture, they cannot be truly multicultural. The current majority of sororities that are "cultural" but claim "multicultural" are Latina.
Other sororities may be truly multicultural in membership, but must be classified as "diverse" because they don't actively promote multiculturalism. This is the stickiest definition of them all. Think of it this way: are you a student because you go to class, take books and listen to the professor? Or are you a student because you go to class, take books, listen to the professor, do the work and progress in your studies? Many people could "appear" to be students, but they are not truly students until they "act" as students.
