3/4" BOLT
<--- Axle Mtg Screws --->
When I cut off the rusted
FH, I left about 8" extend
past the firewall. This will
allow me to 'slip' on the
new one on. It's
amazing what a
'Sawzall' can do.
After welding, I primed
everything and topcoated with
a 'high performance' enamel,
chemically resistant, etc. I
don't want to see any rust
here EVER!
When I slipped on the new FH, I
reattached the axle to the FH and
then used the 2 upper axle mounting
screws to line everything up. Then I
drilled for the 3/4" nut & bolt, which I
used to hold the FH for welding. The
axle mounting screws are what
aligned everything. The body being
on help.
