FRAME HEAD REPLACEMENT

Note: The following procedure is the methods I used to replace my Frame Head (FH). It may not be considered the "correct way",
i.e., I did not remove the body. But it worked. Hopefully someone else will realize that there are alternate methods to doing things.

Look how badly rusted the
Frame Head (FH) was. I
actually believe that if you
drove the Bug and hit a bump
in the road, the car would
break in half.

THIS IS ONE OF THE HARDEST THINGS TO REPLACE. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND HAVING A
PROFESSIONAL DO THE ACTUAL WELDING FOR YOU. IT'S A GOOD INSURANCE POLICY.
Had I known about the frame head rust, I would've never bought this car.

Here's the replacement FH. I
found out by accident that
there's a difference between
early (link pin) and late (ball
joint) model Bugs regarding
the FH.
