SPECIAL THANKS TO:
|
|
- REVIVE A JUNK HEAP INTO A DAILY DRIVER & POSSIBLE SHOW CAR
- KEEP TOTAL PROJECT COST UNDER $4300, THE APPROX. COST OF THE CAR NEW
- UPGRADE SOME AMENITIES TO PROVIDE A MORE COMFORTABLE RIDE
(Especially for the 1-2 hour trips to 'local' VW shows)
- DO AS MUCH OF THE WORK MYSELF, WITHOUT COMPROMISING SAFETY
|
|
- STELTON MOWER: John & Glen help and teachings on welding. John's help on taking out &
installing the glass (a couple of times) and help with my "virgin" pull of the engine.
- BugShop: John Henry's immense wealth of tech info from his website, as well as his
encouragement to keep going when things got rough.
- Tom Miller: His budget conscious resto website showing alternative means of doing things.
Especially for his ideas on paint prep ideas for a Maaco paint job and on how to make your own door panels.
- "Speedy Jim" Mais, who provides me a lot of electrical help, especially about the fuel
injection system.
- To my many friends from the Aircooled Newsgroup for their help on any possible subject
especially, John Connolly and "Arno".
- To my brother Vinnie, for donating his old genuine Ferrari mirrors to my Bug. Don't ask me
how one brother likes VW's and another Ferraris.
- To my Mom, for all the sewing help on the upholstery and misc. vinyl sewing. To my Dad for
always being the extra body (like when bleeding brakes) and the caretaker of my 'hibernated' Bug.
- To Willie, for his help on my first engine pull and all the VW paraphenalia.
- To Pete (or Harry) for all the photos and scanning of all my pictures.
- A real SPECIAL THANK YOU to my wife for giving up our one car garage for weeks at a time
for "the piece of crap" while her one year old car sat outside during cold and wet weather. Also, a special thanks for sacrificing a lot of our quality time. |
