A fun ride for the family, some great special effects and nutty script.   The parody of convention/fandom makes this a must see for the science fiction convention goer!   An alien race visits Earth to ask for help in defeating an enemy from a group of actors whose cheesy sci fi show from years before is mistaken for factual historical records.

Godzilla 2000  ...Rated PG
Review Courtesy of Mike Logan
Starring Takehiro Murata and Naomi Nishida
Movie-Lite Rating: 2 1/2  stars out of 5
Kid Quotient: 7out of 10-- younger children may be frightened.

This long awaited latest installment of the classic film series sadly fails to deliver.  In its attempt to recreate the "old style" special effects and look, it goes over the top on cheesy, non-believable graphics.  The visuals on this movie make the 60's movies look progressive with its over exaggerated poor blue screening and toy tanks (which by the way, stopped being used in the 60's).  The story was unimaginative and also not accurate to the ongoing arc of godzilla films.   The major saving grace here was the wonderfully resculpted Godzilla suit costume, which looks great.  The  rival monster suit is great as well.
If you can't live without seeing Godzilla films, by all means catch this one on the big screen.  But don't expect much out of our old hero...his Dean Devlin counterpart would swallow him for breakfast.

Normally a big Cusack fan, I had some mixed feelings about this film.  Definitely has its moments and the storyline of a man trying to piece together why his relationships always seem to go awry is promising.  Well cast, but not enough script to keep it together.  Too much first-person-talking-to-the-camera monologue.  Despite its potential, I found myself waiting for it to get off the ground.

Hollow Man ...Rated R
Starring Kevin Bacon, Elizabeth Shue

Movie-Lite Rating: 4 1/2 stars out of 5
Kid Quotient: 4 out of 10-- disturbing images, violence, rampant nudity/adult situations.  This film has been a hit among teenagers.

One of the better films out this year.  Original, imaginative, well scripted, and impeccably cast.   Spectacular cutting-edge special effects.  This story of the Invisible Man Gone Psycho will keep you on the edge of your seat.  Though there are little to no surprises at the end, it is such a wild ride up to that point you probably won't care.  Somewhat distracting (whether in a negative or positive way is highly up to personal interpretation) is the fact that  Bacon's nude form is displayed throughout the film in various stages of invisibility (sources on set say he was unclothed for a good 80% of the film).
