Grand River Band of Ottawa Indians

The Moby (Mawby) family belonged to the Grand River Band of Ottawa Indians.  They resided primarily in Northern Michigan before some of the family moved to Wisconsin.  The oldest members of the family we have record of are Kush ke maw ne say and Selebigah (Schiliga), also known as Joseph and Susan Mawby (Moby).  We trace our branch of the family name down to Mary Moby, daughter of James Moby and Lucy Ostie (Austay).
