The Different Worlds

Sekai is a world with gates to eight other worlds - the eight worlds in our universe with intelligent, human life. Each gate bares the name of an element and leads to a different world. The Earth is the strongest of them all, and is therefore ranked #1. Below, there's a brief overview of the gates, their Ishis, the worlds behind them and their strengths. Ishi:
Official Ishi Name: Raikou
Colour: Yellow
Whereabouts: The Lightning Gate is located in Ichi, the capital of Sakurakuni.
Strengths: The Lightning Ishi can be used against any other.
Weaknesses: Its only weakness is another Lightning Ishi.
Information: the world behind the Lightning Gate is the Earth, and the most powerful and influential world of all eight. People from Earth are known for their intelligence and development. In earlier times, most Ouji (leaders) were coming from this planet.
Time: One day in Sekai is the same as a month on Earth.

#2. Wind Gate/Yochi

Ishi:
Official Ishi Name: Kaze
Colour: Grey
Whereabouts: The Wind Gate is located in Ni, the capital of Himawarikuni.
Strengths: The Wind Ishi is most powerful against Water, Fire, Earth and Snow/Ice Ishi.
Weaknesses: The only weakness of the Wind Ishi is the Lightning Ishi.
Information: The world behind the Wind Gate is Yochi. This world looks a bit like the Earth, except for its habits. For example: when you're introduced to someone new on Yochi, it's usual to kiss that person on the mouth. And when you meet someone you're close to, you simply shake hands. It's a culture shock for people from Yochi when they arrive in Sekai - Sekai is identical to the Earth when it comes to this kind of habits. In Yochi, most men have more than one wife and a lot of children.
Also, Yochi is famous for the telepathic gifts all people possess. Not everyone there chooses to use it, but they can communicate telepathically from time to time.
Time: One day in Sekai is the same as ten years on Yochi.

#3. Fire Gate/Atsui

Ishi:
Official Ishi Name: Hi
Colour: Orange
Whereabouts: the Fire Gate is located in San, the capital of Suzurankuni.
Strengths: The Fire Ishi is most powerful against Earth, Ice/Snow, Wood and Metal Ishi.
Weaknesses: The Fire Ishi is weak against Water, Wind and Lightning Ishi.
Information: Atsui is the world behind the Fire Gate. It's covered with volcanoes, and thus, it's constantly hot and hard to live at. People from Atsui therefor tend to be housetomatoes. Blooming plants are very unusual there, as they don't get a chance to bloom.
The government of Atsui has realized some time ago that human kind is just another chain in evolution, and that they therefor have to take care evolution goes well. They find feelings as love not a part of it, and therefor, falling in love is forbidden as it can blind you when choosing a good partner. Marriage is only allowed for the sake of getting children.
Time: One day in Sekai is the same as fifty days in Atsui.

#4. Ice/Snow Gate/Tenka

Ishi:
Official Ishi Name: Kouri/Yuki
Colour: Light Grey
Whereabouts: The Ice/Snow Gate is located in Yon, the capital of Sokeikuni.
Strengths: The Ice/Snow Ishi is most powerful against Water, Earth and Wood Ishi.
Weaknesses: The Ice/Snow Ishi is weak against Fire, Wind and Lightning Ishi.
Information: The Ishi has two appearances, depending on the temperature in which it was found. The Ice Ishi is translucent, the Snow Ishi isn't. They both have the same strengths and weaknesses.
Tenka is a mysterious world, behind the Ice/Snow Gate. No-one from there can remember a thing from the world, except for their name and age. The planet is rumoured to contain magic and advanced technology, and because those two could be lethal in the wrong hands, inhabitants forget about it once they get into Sekai. There is, however, no proof for that statement.
Time: One day in Sekai is the same as twenty-five days in Tenka.

#5. Water Gate/Takitsubo

Ishi:
Official Ishi Name: Mizu
Colour: Blue
Whereabouts: The Water Gate is located in Go, the capital of Tsubakikuni.
Strengths: The Water Ishi is most powerful against Fire, Earth, Wood and Metal Ishi.
Weaknesses: The Water Ishi is weak against Ice/Snow, Wind and Lightning Ishi.
Information: The world behind the Water Gate is Takitsubo. This world merely has oceans, without a single piece of land. Therefore, the people of Takitsubo are adapted to a life underwater. They are very inventive, and the Suihou, the main vehicle in Sekai and a kind of water bubble, was first invented in Takitsubo. One could state Takitsubo is like the mythical Atlantis from Earth, except for the fact the entire world is like that. Rumour has it that the people might evolve into mermaid-like creatures, but that is as of yet unconfirmed.
Time: one day in Sekai is the same as twenty days in Takitsubo.

#6. Metal Gate/Kane

Ishi:
Official Ishi Name: Kinzoku
Colour: Dark Grey
Whereabouts: The Metal Gate is located in Roku, the capital of Rindoukuni.
Strengths: The Metal Ishi is most powerful against other Metal Ishi and Wood Ishi.
Weaknesses: The Metal Ishi is weak against Fire, Earth, Water and Lightning Ishi.
Information: The world behind the Metal Gate is Kane. As one would suspect with such a name, metal is very important there, as is iron. The world of Kane could be compared with the Earth during the Iron Age, around 800 b.C.. It is, however, not as developed as the worlds above, and constant wars are held against people known as the barbarians: people travelling around with more advanced skills than the ordinary people on Kane. Young boys usually join the army at age twelve or even lower, and girls are meant to stay at home and take care of their families. The families are big, and ten children or more is more like the rule than the exception.
Time: One day in Sekai is the same as ten days in Kane.

#7. Earth Gate/Kitei

Ishi:
Official Ishi Name: Tsuchi
Colour: Green
Whereabouts: The Earth Gate is located in Nana, the capital of Ajisaikuni.
Strengths: The Earth Ishi is most powerful against Wood and Metal Ishi.
Weaknesses: The Earth Ishi is weak against Fire, Water, Ice/Snow, Wind and Lightning Ishi.
Information: Behind the Earth Gate lies the world of Kitei. In Kitei, everything is set in rules, and therefore, you can't do a thing except for breathing without taking a look at the rules first. Money doesn't exist in Kitei: people trade in order to gain food or supplies. Women are hardly allowed to talk against men, and first have to bow for permission before doing so. There's one good point about this: there are no wars or fights or whatsoever in Kitei, simply because all these rules forbid those.
Time: One day in Sekai is the same as five days in Kitei.

#8. Wood Gate/Shinrin

Ishi:
Official Ishi Name: Ki
Colour: Brown
Whereabouts: The Wood Gate is located in Hachi, the capital of Sumirekuni.
Strengths: The Wood Ishi isn't especially strong against one sort of Ishi.
Weaknesses: The Wood Ishi is weak against Fire, Earth, Water, Ice/Snow, Metal and Lightning Ishi.
Information: Shinrin is the world behind the Wood Gate, and it is the most underdeveloped world of all eight. It is completely covered with primeval forests, and not humans rule the world, but different kinds of other creatures. It is also rumoured dinosaur-like creatures rule Shinrin and are a constant threat to the people.
In Shinrin, people have never even heard of the word 'change', which is an indication to their limited speaking and comprehension. One lives in a small group of other people, and hunts and collects as people did in prehistory here on Earth.
Time: One day in Sekai is the same as two days in Shinrin.
