*The World of Sekai*

Inspiration

Sekai wasn't born out the middle of nowhere. I've had some inspirations, and I'll talk about them here. As the story progresses, I'll be sure to add some more inspirations here!

Final Fantasy X

Believe it or not, this game is what started the idea of Sekai! In fact, I was inspired by Yuna and her summoning. Once I played the game at a friend's house (I don't have a PS2 myself), I found this a hugely interesting idea. Yes, the truth is out - that's where the idea of Ishi --> Yajuu came from. But actually, those were meant to have a MUCH bigger role in the story than they currently have. Maybe it'll change, maybe it won't. Time will learn!

Music

Music is a great source of inspiration to me. I mostly listen a certain kind of music when I write a piece with a certain feeling. For instance, when it's a merry moment, I listen merry things such as the work of ALI Project. Whenever it's a sad part, I listen to... not so cheery songs. Also, the song Sakura as Andr Rieu has performed it is a huge inspiration to me! With the feeling of this song, I tried to create my Sekai. It's the reason why a lot of things in Sekai are the shape of Sakura (cherry blossom), even the land itself! Sakura makes me long to a world of my own, and thus, I created Sekai with it.

Manga

I mostly read manga to get in a certain mood. I usually get all 'that was a nice story, now I want my own!' once I finished a series, so it's great against a writer's block. I love the work of Arina Tanemura especially to get in the mood, because at quite some points, Sekai seems a bit like her stories. Have you ever noticed her main characters mostly have two guys who like her? One with light and one with dark hair. Well, go figure - Keiko, Chikao and Nao... ;)

Seiyuu

Seiyuu, or voice actors, have already appeared on my characters page. And yes, they inspire me, too! I usually listen to the links I've given you on that page to get the feeling of the character I associate with them. It's nice to give your character a voice, because it makes me feel closer to them and it makes it a lot easier to make them come alive.

Wuthering Heights

Maybe you've already noticed if you've viewed the songs-page, but yes, I really like the book of Wuthering Heights. The power that comes from it hugely inspired me to do my utmost best at writing a story, and put enough feeling in it. Of course, my writing skills aren't the same as Emily Bront's, even if only because I live 150 years later than her. But still - whenever I look at my copy of the book, it gives me a new wave of inspiration. Therefore, I wanted to mention this great novel over here - and try to get you to read it too! ;)
