The Aces and The Kings
This is a trick that I modified from a different trick that was shown to me by a magician. Effect - The spectator finds the four aces and the four kings on top of four different piles. Method - Before doing this trick, place 1 king on top of the deck, the four aces on top of that, and the other three kings on top of that. Shuffle the deck in front of the spectator making sure you are keeping the top 8 cards undisturbed. Put the deck on a table face down and ask the spectator to cut the top half of the deck to the right of it. Now ask he/she to cut that pile over to the right, and the pile on the left over to left (figure 1). Unknown to the spectator, the pile of kings and aces are on top of the pile to the far right. Say "I am going to shuffle each packet and deal off cards to the remaining packets." Take the pile on the left in you left hand and quickly move 6 cards one at a time from the top of the pile to the bottom of the pile. Deal 3 cards starting at the left to the remaining piles, and then deal 3 more to the piles in the same order. Repeat this for each pile. After you have dealt the cards from the last pile, put down the pile and ask the spectator to turn over the top cards of the piles. Then ask he/she to turn over the next cards in the piles. The ending will be a suprise to you as much as will be to the spectator. You can do this trick with the queens and jacks in addition to the aces and kings by changing the following steps. Put the 3 jacks above the three queens and put that on top of the kings and aces. Put a queen under the king at the bottom and put the jack under that. When you pick up the 1st pile, deal only one set of three cards to the other pile. With the 2nd pile, deal 2 sets and so on. Now, they turn up the aces, kings, queens, and jacks all in a row.

Seperating Cards
I put together a couple of other tricks to make this one. Originally I got the idea from someone I went to a camp with. Effect - The spectators card along with another card is seperated from the deack with the flick of a hand. You then tell the spectator which card out of the two is his. Method - This trick requires no preperation and can be done with a borrowed deck. Fan through the deack slowly and tell the spectator to put his finger where he wants you to stop. Take the top of the deck that the spectator chose and flip it upside down on top of the other half of the deck. Memorize the face up card on the top of the deck. Turn the deck upside down while saying "The first face down card is yours". Hand the spectator the card and turn the group of face up cards at the top upside down so that they are face down. Fan the cards out face down and ask the spectator to put his card anywhere in the packet. Watch the card carefully and put your thumb on it after he/she puts it in. So it doesn't seem so obvious that you are touching their card, take about half of the cards on top of it and shuffle them into the middle of the deck. Then take the rest of the cards on top of theirs and shuffle them into the middle of the deck. Now the spectators card is on the top of the deck and the card you memorized is on the bottom. You can then shuffle the deck making sure that you are not disturbing the top and bottom cards. Now it is time for the seperating! Hold the deck loosly with the thumb and pointer finger of the left hand. Quickly flick your left hand towards your right hand and catch the deck in your right hand. This takes a lot of practice, so don't be mad if you can't get it the first time. Even I sometimes get more than two cards or I don't catch the deck. You should be left with two cards in you left hand, the spectators card and the card you memorized. The spectators card is not the one you memorized, so you know that the other card is the spectators. Pretend to study each card and then tell the spectator what their card is.
The Hurricane
I have no idea how it works, but it works and thats the main thing. This trick always impresses people. Effect - You tell a story about four islands and how a family consisting of aces, kings, queens, and jacks lives on each island. A hurricane gets them all mixed up. In the end the aces are on one island, the kings are on another island, the queens are on another island and the jacks are on another island. Method - No preperation is needed, but it does make the trick flow more smoothly. Before the trick, put the four aces on the top af the deck, the jacks on top of that, the queens on top of that, and the kings on the very top. It helps if the suits are in the same order for each one. Pick up the cards you put in order on the top of the deck or find the cards in the deck ,if you did not prepare them,. While doing this tell the spectator that this trick has a story that goes along with it. Say "There are four islands, each with a father," deal the king to four seperate places, "a mother," deal the queens on top of the king in the corresponding suits "a son," deal the four jacks on top of the queens of the same suit "and a dog," deal the aces in the same way as the jacks and queens. Say "A huge hurricane came and mixed up all the families." While saying this take one of the piles and hold it in your hand. Take the next pile and put it on top of the first one. Do this with all of the piles. Ask the spectator to cut the deck as many times as he/she wants, sybolizing the hurricane. Deal the top four cards one at a time into for different piles starting at the left. Do this with the remaining cards making sure to deal to the same pile first each time. Turn up each pile and say, "The hurricane mixed up the groups and look what happend."
