Flick The Card
This is the trick you see on TV where the magician cuts the spectators card to the middle of the deck, flicks it and it is up top again. This trick uses a different fake cut than The Real Aces And Kings on the previous page. It also uses the double lift. I have the Svengali Deck, which makes this trick a lot easier. Effect - The spectator chooses a card and puts it on top of the deck. the magician cuts the deck to mix up their card. He lifts up the top card, and acts suprised when it is not the spectator's. He then remembers that he forgot to flick the top card. He flicks it and the top card is the spectators. Method - This trick has no preperation. Give the spectator the deck of cards and tell them to pick any card out of the deck and to memorize it. Turn your back while the are doing this. Ask them to take it and put it on top of the deck. Turn back around and do the following cut : Take the top half in your right half, but grasp the top card with your left thumb. Take the top half and cut it to the bottom, while you keep the original top card on top. Do a double lift and act suprised when they say that the card is not theirs. Put the double lift back on top of the deck. Slap yourself on the forehead and say "I forgot to flick the top card!" Flick the top card and show the spectator the real top card.
The Upside Down Card
I got this trick from the hard index of Card Trick Central. My version uses the double lift and palming. Effect - A random card is chosen out of the deck. It is placed on top and you show it to the spectator. You give them their card and ask them to put it into the middle of the deck and shuffle it to lose it. You spread out the cards and theirs is the only one face down. Method - This is a perfect trick that can be done with a borrowed deck. Turn the deck face down and push cards one at a time off to the side and ask the spectator to say stop. Take that card and put it on top. Do a double lift and show the second to top card. Put it back on top and take the real top card and give it to the spectator. Palm the top card on the deck by taking the top right hand corner and pushing it against the joint in your pinkey, and taking the bottom left hand corner and pushing it into the fleshy part of skin next to the thumb. Ask him to put it into the card he is holding into the deck anywhere. Now ask him to shuffle the deck. Hold the deck in your left hand and quickly turn over your right hand and put the palmed card upside down on the bottom of the deck. Cut the deck once and spread the cards out face up. The spectators card will be face down.

The 4 Seperating Aces
This trick is like Seperating Cards in the earlier pages of this site, except that the deck is cut several times in between the seperating. Effect - The deck is cut by the magician and the overhand shuffle is done. The magician flicks his hand and the 2 red aces seperate them selves from the deck. The deck is cut again and the overhand shuffle is once more done. The magician flicks his hand again and the 2 black aces seperate themselves from the deck. Method - Before the trick, put the ace of diamonds on the top of the deck and the ace of hearts on the bottom of the deck. Then place the ace of spades on the very top of the deck and the ace of clubs at the bottom. Prepare for a fake cut by cutting the deck and keeping the tip of your pinky in between the halves. When you are in front of the spectator, reverse the cut in clear view. Do the overhand shuffle by taking all of the cards in your right hand except for the ace of spades and the ace of diamonds and dropping packets of cards on top of the 2 aces. Make sure that you drop the last TWO cards at the same time on to the top of the deck. Now the ace of diamonds is on the bottom of the deck and the ace of hearts is on the top of the deck. Grasp the deck lightly between the index finger and the thumb of your left hand and throw the deck into your right hand by quickly flicking the deck in the direction of your other hand. Keep hold of the top and bottom cards, so that they will be the only cards remaining in your left hand. Put those cards face down on a table and repeat the above process for the two black aces including the fake cut at the beggining. This time when you do the over hand shuffle, take all of the cards in your right hand except for the ace of clubs. You need to drop the last card alone onto the top of the deck. Once you put the 2 black aces face down, turn over all 4 cards and watch the look on the spectators face.
The Face Cards
I was just playing around with a deck of cards, when I got an idea about a trick. This trick uses a lot of fake cutting and fast moves. This could be a trick on its own, but I think it is a lot better when done with something else. I'll leave this trick open-ended, so that you can come up with your own. Effect - The magician cuts the deck, but some cards are face up and some are face down. The magician cuts the deck twice and turns all the cards the same way. He cuts the deck once more and all of the face cards are on the top in order. Method - Before you do the trick, hold the dek face down and take the 4 aces and the 4 kings (with the aces on top) and put those face up on the top of the deck. Now take the queens and jacks (queens on top) and put those face up on the bottom of the deck. Turn the deck around, so that the queens are on top. Directly before you preform the trick, cut the deck and put your pinky in between the 2 halves. In front of the spectator, reverse the cut and spread out the cards saying "we have a problem with this deck because some cards are face up and some are face down. I am going to try and fix this problem." While saying this, secretly get a pinky break above the bottom 8 cards. Say "the first step is to cut the deck." Do this while keeping the pinky break. Cut the deck once more at the pinky break, but reverse the top half, so that there are some face up cards in the middle of the deck, and face down cards before and after. Spread out the cards again and say "There are still some face up cards in the middle, so I am going to have to reverse them." Spread out the cards once more, but square up each part seperatly. With the face down part at the top and bottom, flip the face up part on to the top of the first face down part and put the bottom face down part on top. Keep your finger above the first face down part and cut the deck at that point. Now the face cards are on top of the deck starting with the aces. You make up your own ending for this trick.
