November 2005
~ It's winter! We woke up the other day to white stuff on the ground. Corben
was so
excited to he got dressed right away and played in the back yard for about half
and hour...
before breakfast, even!
Logan is growing
like a weed, as he should. He started walking in early October and is now
trying to run to keep up with his big brother. He's not very good at avoiding
the dining room
table, though, and has more than his share of bruises on his noggen.
I had my first
(and most likely only) ultrasound near the end of October and "Boo"
is doing well. We still don't
know if its a girl or a boy. The u/s tech tried for 10 minutes to figure it
out, but Boo is the modest sort and
wouldn't even give a tiny hint. So it will be a big surprise come March!
We are gearing
up for the Christmas season. My older sister is getting married on Dec. 10,
so we are off to
Vancouver for the wedding. Corben is going to be the ring bearer. He will look
so cute in his little tux! We
had him fitted just this past weekend and he was so adorable, even in the suit
that was a bit too big. Now if we
can just get him down to aisle without freaking out, lol.
Anyhoo, that's what's going on at our house right now. Check back every so ofter for new updates!

We moved to Edmonton in July 2001 to help out with the planting of the Capital City Church of Christ. Since moving here we have fallen in love with the city and it's people. It is beautiful and sunny year-round, though the tempurature will range between -30 and +30 degrees celcius. I'm just excited to experience a white Christmas!

Here we are

Colin and I met in Vancouver at church on Wednesday, January 25, 1996. We were running around the fellowship, filling out a human “bingo” card. Two people we needed to find were: a person who had jumped out of an airplane (and ask them what colour their parachute was) and someone who had been a cheerleader in high school. As it so happened, Colin had gone skydiving a few months before, and I had been a cheerleader in junior high – in grades 9 and 10. And so we met.

Here we are
on our first official date as a couple

We started dating on December 20, 1996. Colin asked me to be his girlfriend on a beautiful, snowy evening, atop Burnaby Mountain. We had been dating exactly 20 months and 2 days when he proposed marriage on a deserted part of Kits Beach. (Well, deserted except for a gaggle of friends who were hiding off in the bush and a judo class who made their presence known when they applauded when I said "YES!!" and Colin kissed me.)

We were married on November 28, 1998 during a beautiful candle-lit service. After returning from our honeymoon on Saltspring Island and in Victoria, we moved into a tiny, one-bedroom apartment on West 12th Avenue, near Oak Street, in Vancouver. We lived there until New Years, Y2K when we moved to Coquitlam. We spent the most widely celebrated New Years at my parent's place, with our every possession in a moving truck parked in the driveway.

In March 2000 we found out that I was expecting our first baby, due November 13 - one day after my own birthday! We found out at the first ultrasound in June that there had been no amniotic fluid because Bean had not developed kidneys. This is a rare occurrence. It resulted in Potter's Syndrome, which means that his lungs would not form properly and he would either die during labour or shortly thereafter. He was stillborn on October 15, 2000. We named him Nathaniel because it means "gift of God", and he really was a wonderful gift. He did more to strengthen the relationship between myself and Colin, and our relationship with God, than I could ever have imagined.
