May 13, 2004 ~ It has been about a year since I last updated our website... that should give you an
idea as to how busy we have been! It's been an up-and-down year. I suffered a miscarriage at 12 weeks
in August 2003, but am very excited to anounce that I am currently 20 weeks pregnant with "Pumpkin"
or "Bubba" as we call the little alien in my belly :) See his first portrait at Pumpkin's page.

We had a great Christmas; my parents were able to come for a short visit, and they spoiled us all rotten,
especially Corben. The bad news is that I severely aggrivated the bulging discs in my back by running
into the dinning room table. It started out mildly, but by the time February came around I could not
even stand up straight, let alone lift up Corben. It is slowly getting better, but I am in constant discomfort.
The people at the Canadian Back Institute have been a great help, especially since I have very limited
options due to my pregnancy. Through all of this the whole family has had to endure a couple rounds of
stomach flu, just to make things interesting. On the brighter side, all this pain and sickness meant that I
managed to avoid (or just failed to notice!) my usual first-trimester morning sickness.

March came and so did Corben's first consistent part-time attendence at a daycare run by a good friend
of mine. Her son is only 9 months older than Corben and they love playing together. It is such a great
opportunity for me to get things done and to rest my back.

April brought Corben's second birthday and another visit from my parents. Both were wonderful.
Corben had a fun-filled party with lots of friends (and their parents) over. Our basement now looks
like a toddler's sporting goods store! Corben loves all sports. Right now his favourites are golf and
baseball, but hockey is still the underlying passion. He can even hit a ball with his bat!

We are about to undertake the renovation of our basement, which I happily get to sit out of ;) but get
to enjoy once it's finished. We're not sure how long it's going to take, so I'm not sure when our next
update will be, as the office is part of the basement and will need to be dismantled for a while. I hope that
