I have two loving parents, who have been married since 1970
(to each other!), as well as an older and a younger sister. I am pleased to say that I am a happy, well-adjusted, middle child.
I love spending time with friends and family. Colin and I do a lot of
entertaining. I enjoy watching movies, playing cards and board games, going out for dinner and messing around on the computer. But my most favorite activity is snuggling with my husband on the couch watching a good movie.

Growing up I had four career aspirations… to be a doctor, a flight attendant, a supermodel, or a wife and mom. Needless to say a career as a supermodel wasn’t an option and the opportunity to become a flight attendant never got off the ground (sorry for the pun, I just couldn’t help myself!). I ditched the idea of becoming a doctor after barely passing Physics 12… so that left being a wife and mom.

Since I wasn’t married by the time I graduated high school, I decided to carry on my education at the University of Victoria, in Victoria, BC (on Vancouver Island). I was there only for two years, my interests at the time not really being in academics. I did have a lot of fun with my friends living in residence (dorms), going out to clubs and cheering on our basketball team. After my two-year stint at university, I moved back home and found a job. Nine months later, I found myself looking to re-locate to Victoria. I had a great time, and got some great life-experience, living with roommates and then on my own, before deciding, after two years, to move back home again. I can see now how it was all God’s plan to get me back to the mainland, and into a job that had me working in downtown Vancouver.

I had been living back at home for about nine months when I was stopped Robson Street (the main strip in downtown Vancouver) on my lunch break and invited out the a gospel meeting by a girl who was about my age. I decided to check it out, since I was in fact “shopping” for a church at the time. That was my introduction to the Vancouver Church of Christ. I have been going there ever since. The girls there were instrumental in helping me to understand exactly what it means to be a Christian. In January 1996 I was baptized into Christ for the forgiveness of my sins and to received the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

It was there that I met Colin and many more people who have become like family to me. It was the first time I had ever been to a church that actually practiced what they preached, and took being a disciple of Jesus seriously. If it weren’t for them, my relationship with God would not be a strong as it is today, and it definitely would not have been able to sustain the challenges that Colin and I faced in 2000 with the birth and death of our first child, our son Nathaniel.

An e-group I joined has been a great support in our loss. AnAngelForMe is a wonderful group of women who have also gone through the trials and tribulations that come with loosing a child.

In August 2001 God gave us an amazing gift... we found out that I was pregnant the day we finally moved to Edmonton! Our son, Corben Joshua, was born on April 23, 2002, at 3:44 am. He weighed in at 8lbs 14 oz. He is a very active little bugger - he takes after his dad and can't sit still for a minute! On September 29, 2004 he was joined by Logan Matthew, who weighed in at 6lbs 14 oz. He's the fastest crawler in the west. 8-)

I am proud to say that I am now a housewife and SAHM (Stay At Home Mom). By trade I am a bookkeeper, but I have not been working outside the home in a permanent job since January 2000. I LOVE being at home! I spend my days raising the boys, hanging-out with friends or doing household chores. In my “free” time (ha ha... what's that??!!) I love to play on the computer and chat with my e-friends. I also help out my hubby by doing administration and bookkeeping for our company, SleepTracker Canada Inc.
