ARMOR

Eyruaad's Scales

This suit of enchanted full plate is made entirely of single dragon scales, carefully
shaped into interlocking articulated plates. The scales come from all ten varieties of
dragons--black, blue, brass, bronze, copper, green, gold, red, silver, and white. Despite
the wide variety of colors in this set of armor, they are carefully arranged to create
intricate geometric patterns with complementary colors.

This legendary suit of armor was made by the famous "Dragoncrafter," Eyruaad the
Many-Scaled. One of the fabled "Hidecarved," Eyruaad was as famous for his
ferocious opposition to Chromatic depradations as he was for his skill with magic. He
gained his moniker, the Many-Scaled, by his practise of collecting a single scale from
each of his vanquished enemies--as well as from his allies who fell in battle. The many
magical items that bear his name were often crafted with these scales, and
Eyruaad's Scales is
considered his masterpiece. Made from the scales of his greatest foes, those of his dearest
friends, and even two culled from his own hide, Eyruaad spent nearly a decade carefully
infusing each scale with his greatest magic, so that it retained the power of its former owner. He
claimed that he was called by Chronepsis, the draconic deity of fate, to craft this armor for a
prophecied hero. It is said that Eyruaad was killed by a red wyrm just as he finished his
Scales,
pouring his dying breath into the magic. The
Scales were saved from theft by the Red when
                                                                           Eyruaad's student, the silver wyrm
Ilyuandiralan, arrived and slew him. She vowed that his Scales

would eventually find their way into the possession of the hero that he had foreseen.

Eryuaad's Scales is a set of +1 dragonhide full plate, enhanced with permanent longstride and freedom of movement spell effects. Once per day, the wearer can cast barkskin on himself as a 12th level caster.

Shadow Shield

This shield is very similar to the standard-issue Purple Dragon shield. It is constructed of quality Chondath-
an steel, with red leather arm straps that cross over to provide a secure hold. Like most such shields, it is
emblazoned with a rampant purple dragon on a black field, although these shields bear an inscription in
dark red, the first line above the dragon and the second line below:

Against the Shadows
                                                                     We Stand Ready

The rim of the shield stands out slightly from the black field and is of the same red color as the inscription.
The two upper corners of the rim flair outwards slightly to points and inward into the field. Each corner is
embossed with a knight chess piece, profile facing inwards, with small red tears (fiery-orange crystals;
see FRCS p. 300) for eyes.

At least thirty of these shields are known to have been manufactured within the last year, appearing
soon after the mysterious obliteration of Tilverton in Mirtul of the Year of Wild Magic (1372 DR). Forged  by
various smiths to exacting specifications, they were then enchanted by
Atreides Bloodhawk, Knight of the Red
Fellowship and
Ornrion in the Purple Dragons. A devoted priest of the Red Knight, Bloodhawk realized too late the
immense tactical advantage that the
Shades possessed over the Cormyrean military. He distributed several of these
shields among the Purple Dragons, but sold many to adventurers as a means of collecting funds. The enterprising
tactician saw a means of achieving victory through force of will, rather than through force of arms, and led a small but
strong movement to settle New Tilverton. He hoped that these shields would serve as a symbol of the indomitable will of the
Cormyrean people.

The Shadow Shield is a
+1 heavy steel shield that can, upon command, emit a bright reddish light (equivalent to the spell). Once
per day, as a standard action, its owner can shout the phrase, "Remember Tilverton!" in order to gain a heightened sense of his enemy's
impending actions (ie, a +1 insight bonus to AC). Once activated, this power lasts for three rounds. The command phrase must be shouted, as if being used as a battle cry. Rumors persist that
Ornrion Bloodhawk crafted several more powerful versions of the Shadow Shield, demonstrating considerable protective and light-related powers, but if he did their whereabouts are unknown.

                     WEAPONS

Acrola, the Watchful Tooth of Ashardalon
This long knife is single-edged, with a pronounced curve. Both the blade and the half are carved out of a single dragon tooth; the
pommel is masterfully carved in the shape of a red dragon's head. The hilt is wrapped with thin-cut stips of cured dragon's hide. The
short pommel is inset with a faceted fiery orange jacinth.

Bards tell that a tooth pried by Dydd from the living body of the terrible dragon Ashardalon arose with its own mind and will. This tale
would seem odd, for the goals of the curved knife are nothing like those of the dead dragon. The well-intentioned but tireless dagger has
taken as its personal cause that of protecting the weak and helpless. Acrola frequently uses its
clairvoyance power to scout out areas of
trouble or evil, and then Acrola drags its wielder into the fray.

                      Acrola is a
+5 keen dagger. He is capable of speech, telepathy, and both sight and hearing (Spot and Listen +14); he has blindsense and
darkvision out to 120 feet. His lesser power is
zone of truth 3/day; his greater powers are clairvoyance 3/day and slow 3/day (all spells are
                     caster level 15th).

Strong transmutation; CL 15th; Craft Magic Arms and Armor,
keen edge; Price 132,802 gp.

Ebon Hawk
This sword is 3 1/2 feet long from crossguard to tip, with a black steel blade and twin fullers running along its length. The cruciform crossguard is of rose gold, embossed with intricate knotwork wrapping around stylized hawks. In the center of the engravings are a pair of small star rubies. The hilt is wrapped with black leather in such a way that small diamond-shaped gaps are left visible on the tang, onto which are painted tiny red hawks.

The ancestral blade of the Bloodhawk family, the Ebon Hawk came into the possession of
Atreides Bloodhawk upon the death of his eldest brother, Alvor, who fell in battle during the Zhentilar push into the Dales in 1358 DR, during the Time of Troubles. (Being the third son of the family, Atreides only claimed the blade after his surviving elder brother, Feyd, refused to do so, for reasons that Atreides has never understood.) Since then, Atreides has used his bond with the Red Knight to imbue his family's blade with powerful enhancements to aid him in his many battles.

The
Ebon Hawk is a +2 axiomatic evil outsider bane thundering longsword. Whenever drawn, it emanates a strong reddish light (equivalent to the spell); when striking chaotically-aligned opponents it crackles with brilliant blue energy, and when striking evil outsiders it glows with a flickering halo of white light.

Strong evocation [lawful], conjuration, and necromancy; CL 15th; Craft Magic Arms and Armor,
blindness/deafness, order's wrath, summon monster I, creator must be lawful; Price 72,315 gp.

Slutty Slicer
(Physical description)

The favored blade of
Elros Valrinar, faithful agent of Queen Amlaruil and holy slayer of the Red Knight, the Slutty Slicer is intimately tied to the fate of its master. Elros himself claims that the true story of his heroic deeds, whether by chance or fate, began once the rights of this dagger became his. Elros' love of card games--especially the elven game "Hold'em"--is well known, and he was fascinatied with it throughout his training. Some years ago, before embarking on his mission for the Queen, Elros played one of his friends and fellow trainees a game and won the finely crafted blade from him. Looking back at that moment, Elros almost lost the hand and the bet involving the fated dagger, but something within him told him his friend was bluffing, and he was right. Or rather, it was right--Elros was convinced that the dagger awoke to tell him how to win it. The spark of sentience within the Slutty Slicer grew stronger during Elros' solitary travels over the next year. Soon the dagger became more of a friend than a weapon, as devoted as an old dog and as cunning as an elven cat. Unsure of the exact reason, the Slutty Slicer has become living and has grown in power with him ever since.

The nickname was given during an exchange between Atreides and Elros, during one of many discussions of the Red Knight before Elros converted. Elros joked that the dagger was "in and out of so many people," and they both looked over and yelled "a slutty slicer!" Although the dagger cannot communicate verbally, Elros' questions about how she likes the name have met with a playfully seductive purr.

Despite Elros' love, duty, and faith in his current campaigns, his true goal is to awaken the most powerful magic that the
Slutty Slicer has revealed, still slimbering deep within her: the power of eternal life. Elros has been consumed by this goal and is sacrificing all else towards its pursuit. Once this goal has been attained Elros' and the Slutty Slicer's power will increase ten fold within the ranks of the Red Knight's church, the Evermeet court. Nothing will be able to stop the moon elf assassin.

The
Slutty Slicer is a +3 returning exit wound dagger. Its lesser power is cause moderate wounds (CL 3rd) 3/day. Also has Intelligence 12, Wisdom 12 and Charisma 10, and an ego of 9. Additionally, Elros has invested a good portion of his life energy in the form of skill ranks, which Elros can only access when in possession of the dagger.

WONDROUS ITEMS
Bloodhawks Ration Pack
This pack looks exactly like the sort of ration pack that a soldier would carry on patrol. It is perenially filled with hardtack and skins of fresh water, and is capable of feeding 15 people (or 5 horses) per day. Like most military rations, this food is consistently horrible, but it is highly nutritious and capable of fulfilling any humanoid's or animal's normal nutritional requirements.

The first ration packs were created by Atreides Bloodhawk. As a long-time campaigner, he had seen entire armies disintegrate because of logistical problems. As a faithful priest of the Red Knight, the Lady of Strategy, he knew that keeping soldiers well-fed and well-watered was the first and most important step to victory. He devised the ration pack for his own personal use, after experimenting with a common magical item known as murlynd's spoon. The spoon, however,  was only capable of feeding four people, and had no way to produce water, and he was sure he could improve on the design. The result was Bloodhawk's ration pack, a handy item that kept him and his companions, the Hand of Valor, fed as they raced all over the Realms to stop a Rage of dragons. Since then, they have appeared among many seasoned travelers and professional mercenaries, many of them having been distributed or sold by Red Guards.

Faint conjuration; CL 5th; Craft Wondrous Item, create food and water; Market Price 6,000 gp; Cost 3,000 gp + 240 xp.

Solaire's Cloak of Agility

This long all-weather cloak is made of the same finely-woven thread that is commonly used to craft cloaks of elvenkind. Dyed a rich, deep-green color, the cloak's trim is sewn with silver thread in the shape of complex interwoven knots in an ancient elven style.

Though its original creator is unknown, this cloak was most famously worn by the elven hero Solaire of Myth Drannor. Known as the Warden of Darkwoods, Solaire was an unparallelled master of stealth and was commonly considered one of Myth Drannor's greatest champions. It was said that it the was the power of his
cloak of agility that allowed him to consistently outfox his opponents, maneuvering his forces for precise strikes, always leading the fight himself with his blinding speed. Solaire fought in every major campaign of the Weeping War, usually with the silver dragon Ilyuandiralan at his side, until his death in the Battle of Dragon's Last Dive. Although they were victorious, destroying a portal to the Yuirwood (thus preventing the Army of Darkness from invading that wood as well), four other dragons died in that battle. Leading the survivors to the western mountains, the sorely wounded Ilyuandiralan bore with her the body of her faithful friend Solaire, promising his departing spirit that one day she would find another hero fighting the forces of darkness who would be worthy to wear his cloak.

Solaire's Cloak of Agility is a cloak of dexterity +4 (as per the gloves). It grants its wearer +2 to Reflex saves and +2 to Hide, Move Silently, and Rope Use checks. Once per day the wearer has the ability to cast haste on himself as a 10th level caster.
